Leading and orchestrating marketing, strategy and comms for Currys, to help achieve their ambition to help all everyone enjoy amazing technology.The Senior Marketing Planning Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction of our marketing organisation. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end planning, co-ordination and delivery of world class marketing campaigns (advertising, social, influencer, PR, Creative, Content & CRM) as part of the wider customer facing initiatives we put out – thereby step-changing customer perceptions, growing CLV and delivering major commercial value (short & long-term).Acting as a key connector between leadership and execution teams, the role oversees annual and quarterly planning, budget management, and performance measurement to maximize ROI. You will also lead multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail, throughout the entire process.The Senior Marketing Planning Manager ensures resources are invested effectively to deliver both immediate results and long-term brand value.Key ResponsibilitiesOrchestrate: Functional experts to drive collaboration and deliver world class marketing plans: sitting across the central squads to influence and frame strategic/executional marketing plans. Each marketing element has a specialist in channel owner, so the role must identify opportunity to improve, create and unite behind a ‘campaign hook’, spot risks to plan, guide, empower & course correctOwn the briefs: Engage, energise and coach your team and category squads on what warrants an inspiring customer centric and commercially effective brief to the functional specialistsOwn the execution: Work with the specialists to ensure our plans are on brief & have high quality; be our brand champion to ensure Currys brand principles are embodied throughout all customer touchpoints…no matter what gets thrown at themOwn the budget: Ability to navigate cross channel budgets; negotiate budget discussions with senior stakeholders, ensuring data and metrics are used to inform business cases and decisions madeOwn the process: Champion and maintain our marketing processes through the business; representing and respecting channel processes; identify process optimisation considerate of all stakeholders; ability to be agile to deliver effectively when required, while still ensuring team morale and quality marketing plansOwn supplier facing marketing conversations: representing all Currys marketing channels, brand and marketing metricsOwn the storytelling: Making sure internal stakeholders (up to exco level) understand and buy into what we’re landing/landed and the impact thereofCoach, develop and mentor: manage and develop team of 4 marketing planning managers to support marketing planning team delivery and ensure pipeline of top talent into the teamRequired Skills & ExperienceAble to envision, engage, empower, energise and lead various groups of people to deliver excellent resultsCapacity to process a multitude of campaigns, principles, budgets, category and marcomms strategy to inform your decision makingAbility to clearly and concisely communicate marketing strategy, plans and rationale to director and CCO levelAble to balance multiple KPIs and orchestrate campaigns to deliver against these across marketing, customer, commercial squads and suppliersExtensive stakeholder management experience at peer level, up to director levelHead for numbers and be able to communicate complex quarterly and campaign budget data simply and concisely to inform marketing decision makingRobust commercial acumen and understanding of supplier relationships and their impact on a retailers marketingAbility to manage multiple complex projects at once, ensuring milestones are met and key updates are communicated to director and CCO levelBenefits25 days of annual leave (plus bank holiday entitlement)Private Medical InsuranceLife AssuranceFantastic Colleague Discounts on Tech with Currys and iD MobileHybrid Working (with an expectation to meet in person 2-4 times per month)Join our team and we'll be with you every step of the way, helping you develop the career you want with new opportunities, on-going training and skills for life.Not only can you shape your own future, but you can help take charge of ours too.
