In this role, you’ll shape and deliver our marketing strategy across both performance and brand – driving growth while building a brand founders trust and love. You’ll lead activity across digital channels as well as offline touchpoints, bringing energy and creativity to everything we do. From strategy to hands-on delivery, you’ll lead our marketing calendar, KPIs, team and budget – making sure our voice is clear, consistent and founder-first.

- Define and lead Virgin StartUp’s marketing strategy, setting direction, priorities and managing the campaign calendar.
- Oversee performance tracking and reporting, using insights to shape messaging, audience targeting and optimisation across channels.
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation to support strategic goals.
- Lead and support the marketing team, including line-managing the Content Producer and coordinating freelancers, agencies and contributors.
- Be the go-to marketing lead across the organisation, collaborating with teams across Start Up Loans, programmes, community and partnerships.
- Own delivery across all channels – from content and email to paid media, website, PR and social – ensuring a cohesive, founder-first voice.
- Drive multimedia content efforts, including podcast production, video content and event-led marketing.
- Champion innovation, staying ahead of trends, testing new formats, and spotting opportunities to improve reach and impact.
- Experience in a senior marketing role, with a strong track record of leading successful strategies and campaigns.
- Confident communicator and collaborator, able to influence stakeholders and bring ideas to life across all levels.
- Results-driven mindset, with proven success in achieving growth and engagement targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding in-house talent and external partners.
- Hands-on experience across channels, including digital, content, PR, paid media and budget management.
- Curious and self-starting, you take initiative, learn fast and enjoy making a role your own.
- Insight-led and data-savvy, using audience knowledge to shape more relevant, impactful marketing.
- Team player and trend-spotter, who shares knowledge, supports others – and ideally brings experience from a startup or founder-focused environment.

Role type: Permanent
Location: This is a hybrid role based in London. While we come together as a full team 1–2 times per month, you’re welcome to use the office more often. Some in-office time may be required for events, podcast production and other content or marketing activities.
Salary: £55,000 - £66,000 plus bonus - We're putting our salaries out there for everyone to see - no smoke and mirrors, just honest numbers. We'll offer a salary that matches your skills, always aiming for room to grow.
