Our current industry mix is not diversified enough. We have pursued new product opportunities within our existing verticals, but much of what we find is in commodity segments where pricing and margins do not fit our business model. To sustain profitability, we must pursue opportunities that are first‑to‑market or new to our customers—innovations that command a strong margin. Description A Product Marketing Manager (PMM) develops and executes the go‑to‑market (GTM) strategy for a product, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, and sales. Key responsibilities include conducting market research to understand customer needs, crafting compelling messaging that highlights product features and benefits, creating marketing campaigns, training the sales team, and monitoring product performance to drive adoption and revenue. PMMs manage the product’s lifecycle from launch to post‑launch, ensuring alignment between product features and market demand. Responsibilities
Market & Customer Understanding: Conduct in-depth market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify market needs and pain points. Messaging & Positioning: Translate product features into compelling customer‑facing messaging and position the product in the market to resonate with target audiences. Go‑to‑Market (GTM) Strategy: Own the GTM strategy and develop integrated marketing plans to support product launches and ongoing growth. Product Launches: Lead product launch initiatives, ensuring the product is ready and marketed effectively. Sales Enablement: Create sales tools, collateral, and training materials to empower the sales team. Campaigns & Content: Develop and execute marketing campaigns, create product content (videos, blogs, presentations), and manage promotional events. Cross‑functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Sales, Engineering, and marketing teams to align strategies and achieve product goals. Performance Measurement: Monitor key performance metrics and analyze data to evaluate the success of marketing strategies and identify areas for improvement. Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the product's marketing throughout its entire lifecycle, adapting strategies to changing market conditions. Manage and Develop Marketing Team: Currently one Marketing Coordinator and one Sales & Marketing Associate.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or Communications, or a technical field (MS or MBA preferred). 7+ years of experience in Product Management or Marketing in the packaging industry (plastic packaging preferred). Strong understanding of market research and competitive analysis. Excellent communication and persuasive skills to influence cross‑functional teams. Ability to translate technical product features into customer benefits. Strategic planning and execution for go‑to‑market initiatives. Data analysis skills to measure campaign performance.
