In 1968, Nicholas Thake founded his first business, NJ Thake Cycles, where he bought, sold and repaired used bikes from his home. Opening his first bike shop in 1972 in Sawbridgeworth, the business developed into a family of more than 20 stores, adopting the name "The Cycle King" in the early 80s. Hawk Cycles' bicycle factory was acquired in 1994, continuing to manufacture quality, value cycles until 2010, then merging with Cycle King to create the online and physical retailer you see today.This new role is to tactically drive forward the Cycle King & Hawk Cycles marketing activity: retail communication, digital presentation, promotional campaigns, point of sale/merchandise, events and social media.Role DescriptionThis is a hands-on, varied role perfect for a multi-skilled marketing creative wanting to gain fantastic experience in a growing business. You’ll be responsible for delivering highly engaging social media content, eye-catching graphics, impactful point of sale and merchandise, engaging digital content, memorable events, and consistent brand messaging across all channels.You’ll work closely with outsourced marketing resources and retail teams to help stories stand out. You will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Cycle King & Hawk Cycles brand across all platforms and channels is consistent and on brand, according to the brand guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & CreativeDesign and produce digital assets for the website – homepage, social media and email.Maintain and develop the brand’s visual identity across all touchpoints, both in-store and online.Design and produce print, including POS, posters, flyers and signage.Work with existing agencies and freelancers where required.RetailWork closely with the 20+ stores to ensure they have all the marketing assets they need and require.Look at new ways to drive sales and engage new customers.Bring the stores and digital proposition together to offer a consistent multi-channel proposition.Digital & Social MediaManage, optimise and report on all organic and paid social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube), scheduling regular, on-brand posts and engaging with followers.Drive community engagement within the cycle community.Explore new creative ideas to engage existing and future customers.Create engaging visual and written content to showcase new releases, events, and campaigns.Track and report social media metrics and optimise performance. Constantly improve our customer and follower relationships.Build, send and optimise consumer emailsUpdate the website with new products, images, blogs and copy.Content & CommunicationSupport with campaign implementationWrite and publish blog posts, newsletter content, and press releases.Support with website updates and content management.Capture and edit photo/video content for digital campaigns.Events & PromotionPromote and help organise events, activations and collaborations.Design marketing materials for internal and external events.Liaise with partners, venues, and collaborators to promote shared campaigns.General MarketingAssist with packaging and POS design briefs and the resulting procurement process.Support product launches with creative ideas and campaigns.Interface with product, retail and online to understand commercial needs and drive results.Qualifications/ExperienceAt least 3 years of marketing experience within retail with proven hands-on results.Looking to build marketing experience in a growing, multi-channel business.Proven experience in marketing, preferably within the cycle, sports or branded products sectors.A strong advocate for marketing in the business and influential over how visible their needs and feedback are to all.Strong graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or similar).Experience with updating websites – either WooCommerce or ShopifyExcellent copywriting and storytelling ability, and high standards in terms of the quality and consistency of what you release.Highly organised with a structured approachSocial media savvy with an eye for content trends.Comfortable working independently in a small, agile team.Photography/videography skills are a bonus.Passion for cycling and being active is a big plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
