Overview

Bookouture is an award-winning, dynamic digital publisher of bestselling commercial fiction. As a division of Hachette, we publish books that reflect the diversity of the societies we live in. We are seeking a results-driven Head of Digital Marketing and Campaigns to lead digital advertising, organic social media, and email marketing across our publishing programmes: Bookouture, Second Sky, and Translate.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and shape Bookouture’s marketing future in collaboration with the Digital Marketing and Campaigns Director.
  • Set strategy and manage digital advertising across platforms including Meta (Facebook), Instagram, Amazon, Google, TikTok, and BookBub; design and execute branding campaigns for high-potential authors and titles.
  • Analyse performance, identify growth opportunities, and optimise campaigns; oversee testing programmes and manage external freelancers and agencies.
  • Drive organic social media efforts with the Communications team (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Bluesky); ensure alignment with paid campaigns and oversee reporting of account performance.
  • Develop and oversee email marketing strategy across all campaigns, including paid and organic acquisition to grow subscriber lists and improve performance.
  • Provide insights and guidance to the Communications team; monitor budgets for strong ROI; present performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Expand into new marketing channels while optimising existing ones; train and mentor team members to support high-quality outputs and data-informed decisions.
  • Present developments and reports in company meetings; contribute to cross-functional meetings within Bookouture and Hachette.
  • Stay current with industry developments, marketing technologies, and market trends; share innovative ideas to maintain competitive advantage.

Who we are looking for

  • Ambitious, results-driven professional with a genuine passion for commercial fiction and innovative marketing.
  • Proven track record in leading digital advertising across major platforms (e.g., Meta, Amazon) and in developing organic social media and email marketing strategies.
  • Strong ability to analyse performance data, identify growth opportunities, and continuously optimise campaigns.
  • Experience in training and mentoring team members and managing external relationships effectively.
  • Proactive, with a growth mindset and owner mentality; able to present strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong interest in staying current with industry developments and emerging technologies.
