Position: Chief Marketing Officer

Our client is looking for a dynamic Chief Marketing Officer to lead the development and execution of their brand, marketing, and data strategy across a portfolio of products and services. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape the direction of marketing, drive growth, and influence strategic decisions at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Develop a rolling three-year marketing plan and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Contribute to organisational strategy through participation in executive meetings.
  • Drive subscription, ticket, and visitor growth by collaborating with content, editorial, and events teams.
  • Set, manage, and optimise the annual marketing budget.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary internal team, ensuring roles and responsibilities are allocated for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee external agencies providing PR, media, exhibition, and design services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of all marketing initiatives, adjusting approaches as required.
  • Manage websites and social media platforms to maintain brand consistency and engagement.
  • Use data insights to inform strategy, customer communication, and campaign performance.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor activity, adapting marketing efforts proactively.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with growth objectives.
  • Ensure marketing materials reflect the brand’s values, are centrally accessible, and appropriately distributed.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications.
  • Proven experience in B2B publishing and events marketing.
  • Track record of managing teams and reporting to senior management.
  • Experience within the events or publications sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
