The Role

This Marketing Lead role has evolved from an SEO-focused position into a broader leadership role overseeing a team of three specialists. You’ll bring hands-on expertise across key marketing channels while continuing to develop the organisation’s SEO strategy, brand presence, and commercial impact. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the marketing function during a period of rebrand and subject expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of three marketing specialists across content, social, and general marketing.
  • Maintain and grow strong organic visibility (SEO) as the organisation expands into science education and international markets.
  • Oversee digital marketing activities across SEO, content, email, social, and paid channels.
  • Support ongoing rebranding efforts to establish a strong market presence across maths and science.
  • Build a content library that improves discoverability beyond current PDF-based resources.
  • Contribute to commercial growth strategies by aligning marketing with sales and product initiatives.
  • Explore innovative marketing applications of AI tools such as ChatGPT.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to promote new and existing educational content.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven SEO expertise with experience managing large-scale organic visibility projects.
  • Broad digital marketing experience across multiple channels (content, email, social, paid).
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring a small team.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to balance hands-on delivery and leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in education or content-driven industries is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Screaming Frog.
  • Hybrid working – 1 day per week in Halifax, 1–2 additional days in either Halifax or Leeds.
  • Autonomy to implement innovative strategies including AI-led initiatives.
  • Collaborative, education-focused environment with real social impact.
