AssetCool is addressing one of the most pressing challenges in the global energy transition - grid congestion. By combining cutting-edge grid robotics with breakthrough materials science, our technology transforms the physical performance of the grid in situ, increasing current-carrying capacity by up to 30%, at just 5% of the cost and in a tenth of the time compared to conventional approaches.

In addition to enhancing capacity, our solutions tackle other grid constraints including corrosion, electrical noise, and enable the collection of high-value data to build accurate, predictive digital twins. This technology is proving transformative and is being adopted at an accelerating pace, with deployments across Canada, Slovenia, the UK, and the USA, and a strong global deployment pipeline.

Role Overview

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that positions AssetCool as the category leader in grid-enhancing technologies and grid robotics. This is a broad, “player coach”, hands-on role covering everything from brand development and content creation to event management and investor communications.

You will work directly with the executive team and play a critical role in:

  • Translating breakthrough technology into compelling stories.
  • Driving awareness across utilities, regulators, investors, and the wider energy ecosystem.
  • Building an iconic brand in a rapidly scaling, venture-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Strategy

  • Define and evolve the AssetCool brand, including rebrands and global positioning.
  • Develop integrated communication strategies to improve awareness across markets.
  • Build consistent messaging aligned to investor, utility, and public-sector audiences.

Content & Communications

  • Oversee website development, SEO, and digital presence.
  • Produce press releases, product data sheets, case studies, and technical marketing material.
  • Leverage imagery and video content from global deployments.
  • Develop thought leadership, white papers, and investor-facing collateral.

Campaigns & Engagement

  • Plan and execute digital campaigns to grow online presence.
  • Drive systematic optimization of social media, PR, and digital channels.
  • Coordinate participation in industry conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows.
  • Build strategic media and industry relationships.
  • Create product videos, demonstrations, and marketing assets for sales teams.
  • Align marketing material with technical teams to ensure accuracy and impact.
  • Support business development with tailored communication packs.

Leadership & Growth

  • Build and lead the marketing function as the business scales.
  • Manage agencies, freelancers, and partners to deliver campaigns.
  • Track KPIs and deliver ROI analysis on campaigns and marketing spend.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in marketing leadership roles within VC-backed deep-tech businesses (AI, robotics, energy tech, advanced materials, or equivalent).
  • Track record of building brand awareness internationally.
  • Strong content and storytelling skills, able to translate complex technology into compelling messages.
  • Hands-on experience across digital, PR, events, and product marketing.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including investors, regulators, and corporate partners.
  • Experience in the energy, grid, or climate tech sectors.
  • Familiarity with Series-A/B/C fundraising communications.
  • Established network across deep-tech/energy tech investor and media circles.
  • Ability to operate across cultures and geographies.
