Leadership Role in Business & Marketing
Lead and develop our Business & Marketing team to work in a connected, customer-focused way. Build pragmatic, clear, and efficient processes that strengthen our commercial foundations. Ensure decisions balance commercial value with long-term relationship building. Oversee integrated marketing activity that delivers quality leads and elevates our brand. Champion the use of meaningful data and insights to guide our actions now and in the future. Nurture a positive, collaborative, and values-led team culture, supporting the broadening of skills in the wider team to support sustainability beyond this interim position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and align our Business Development and Marketing functions to ensure new business and marketing work synergize, from generating the right leads to delivering a respectful, relationship-driven sales process.
- Define and execute our customer-first go-to-market strategy, securing team alignment and monitoring market trends and competitor activity.
- Create clarity and focus by defining priorities and streamlining processes to enable effective performance and growth.
- Champion insight-led decision making by developing an insight-driven mentality and utilizing data and insights that add value now and in the future.
- Support change with care by leading with empathy, ensuring psychological safety, and building trust during transitions.
- Deliver integrated, values-led marketing to build awareness, generate quality leads, and support commercial objectives, including growing digital marketing capabilities and embedding branding standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven senior experience in commercial and/or marketing leadership roles.
- Track record in leading B2B customer relationship-based business development teams with improved pipeline discipline and results.
- Ability to balance financial outcomes with long-term customer relationships.
- Experience leading teams through change with clarity, safety, and trust.
- Hands-on marketing experience across digital, traditional, and event channels.
- Comfortable leading marketing and event presence at major industry events.
- Strong understanding of consultative sales principles and values-led growth.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.

Additional Requirements
- Proven success in senior business development or marketing leadership roles.
- Experience developing and executing strategies over 12-24 months.
- Hands-on marketing experience across multiple channels.
- Experience leading teams with empathy and discipline.
- Desirable: experience in a values-led or sensitive sector (e.g., bereavement, healthcare, charity).
