The SEO Specialist will be joining a thriving Global Digital Marketing agency, based for 2 days a week in their Manchester city centre offices. This role offers flexibility and ownership of SEO strategy for a major brand, working directly within the client’s marketing team while collaborating with the agency’s expert SEO specialists. What you’ll actually do and how you’ll contribute to growth and visibility across channels is described below.

Responsibilities Own complete SEO strategy for your brand: develop and execute comprehensive strategies that drive organic growth and revenue; present findings, forecast performance, and guide strategic marketing decisions within the client’s marketing team while collaborating with internal SEO specialists.

Optimize for AI-driven search evolution: optimize content and technical elements for AI-generated search results, featured snippets, and emerging search technologies; stay ahead of algorithm changes.

Drive technical implementation and performance: conduct technical audits, identify optimization opportunities, test site structure optimization and SEO content strategies, and ensure optimal site performance with development teams.

Manage multi-site and international SEO: oversee SEO across multiple properties, develop multi-lingual and multi-regional approaches, and adapt to local market requirements.

Solve search visibility challenges: analyze underperforming clusters, identify root causes, and implement targeted solutions to improve rankings and organic performance.

Deliver multi-level reporting and analysis: create reports for technical teams and executives, track metrics including rankings, traffic, cost metrics, and revenue impact; provide actionable insights.

Lead cross-department collaboration: work with content, conversion, paid acquisition teams, and support broader marketing initiatives.

Manage SEO budget and external partnerships: oversee budget, manage relationships with external agencies for link building, editorial outreach, and digital PR; evaluate performance and contracts.

Qualifications 4-6 years of hands-on SEO experience with proven growth of organic traffic and conversions

Demonstrated success in website promotion with measurable results and case studies

Experience embedded within marketing teams and cross-functional collaboration with content, conversion, and paid acquisition teams

Strong understanding of modern SEO practices including AI optimization and emerging search technologies

Proven ability to create reports and communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels

Technical Expertise That Matters Advanced knowledge of technical SEO across various platforms

Proficiency with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz) and technical audit platforms

Working understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic programming concepts for technical guidance

Experience with analytics platforms and executive performance reporting

SEO budget management and vendor/agency relationship management experience

Modern SEO Skills Expertise in AI optimization including content for AI-generated search results

Understanding of E-A-T principles and impact on search performance

Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, page experience, and technical performance optimization

Experience with schema markup, structured data, and emerging search features

Proficiency in semantic clustering and topical authority development

Experience managing external agencies for link building, editorial outreach, and digital PR campaigns

Multi-site SEO strategy experience including blog platforms and landing page optimization

Understanding of multi-lingual and international SEO considerations

You’ve worked in collaborative environments where building relationships with marketing teams is crucial, and you’re comfortable presenting findings to senior stakeholders. You understand that successful SEO work requires both technical expertise and strategic business thinking. You’re excited about diving deep into one brand’s unique challenges while staying current with AI optimization and emerging search technologies.
