Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + car allowance + Performance bonus up to 9% base salary per annum (paid bi-annually), and comprehensive benefits package including healthcare plan, life insurance, 25 days holiday. Group personal pension with 4% contribution, Occupational Maternity pay plus SMP
Location: Home-based role with occasional travel requirements including client offices (Rainham;Essex), team meetings (Midlands region), retailer meetings (across UK; mainly greater London, and agency/supplier meetings. Flexibility is key - you must be a car driver.
About the Role
Our client, a well-established speciality food company operating within the premium FMCG sector, is seeking a Senior Shopper Marketing Executive with proven account management expertise to drive shopper marketing strategies across traditional retail and digital channels. You will be reporting directly into the Shopper Marketing Controller.
This is a strategic role requiring a seasoned FMCG professional who can manage key retail accounts whilst implementing market-leading shopper marketing campaigns across Multiples, Convenience, Discounters and Online Pure-play channels. You will serve as the primary account lead for our E-commerce customers, with scope to expand into new business development.
Key Accountabilities
Account Management & Client Relationship Leadership
Manage assigned retail accounts as the primary commercial contact, proactively driving core business growth and identifying expansion opportunities
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with retail media contacts and key stakeholders across multiple channels
Lead customer engagement through compelling commercial narratives that align with retailer strategies and deliver mutual value
Negotiate and influence at all levels, from buyer through to category leadershipShopper Marketing Strategy & Execution
Implement omni-channel shopper marketing strategies across bricks & mortar and (url removed) platforms, aligned to category vision and brand strategy
Develop and execute market-leading campaigns designed to drive shopper acquisition, retention and brand loyalty
Deliver creative, differentiated activations that position the brand as a shopper thought-leader within the premium FMCG space
Map and optimise the path to purchase, maximising influence at critical touchpointsE-commerce & Digital Excellence
Own best-in-class online and mobile optimisation across all retailer platforms
Understand and implement platform-specific guidelines at retailer and channel level (Brandbank, self-serve portals)
Maintain performance tracking dashboards and drive continuous improvementCommercial & Financial Management
Manage shopper marketing budgets with full P&L accountability
Analyse campaign performance to extract actionable insights and ROI learnings
Share performance data and recommendations with internal account teams to leverage at customer levelCross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Sales and Category teams to ensure seamless execution across the business
Brief and manage third-party agencies and suppliers, holding partners accountable for delivery and results
Identify and implement cross-category collaborations that amplify brand presence
Build external networks to bring competitive intelligence and industry best practice into the business
Essential Requirements
FMCG Experience - Non-Negotiable
Minimum 4-6 years' experience in Shopper Marketing, Brand Management or Commercial roles within FMCG
Must have worked across Multiple Grocers, Convenience, Discounter or Online Pure-play channels
Demonstrable track record of delivering successful shopper campaigns in fast-paced FMCG environmentsAccount Management Excellence
Proven account management experience working with UK grocery retailers and convenience stores
Demonstrable ability to manage and grow strategic retail accounts independently
Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating with retail buyers and category teams
Skilled at building trusted relationships and influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externallyCore Competencies
Deep understanding of shopper behaviour, consumer insights and customer strategies across physical and digital retail
Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating data into actionable commercial strategies
Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines
