OverviewSenior Marketing Manager, CIB Events Experience and Operations role at HSBC. The Senior Manager – Global Events Experience & Operations shapes, delivers, and optimises the organisation’s global events strategy within the Global Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Marketing team. The role focuses on creating the global events strategy to ensure consistent delivery globally of impactful, high-quality events that strengthen brand positioning, drive client engagement, and support commercial growth across multiple markets.This role coordinates, problem-solves, and shares best practice within the local events teams and leads the day-to-day running of the Events Council. Reporting to the Global Head of Marketing Services, the role leads the execution of strategic global events in partnership with regional/local marketing teams and external agencies. It is accountable for developing and deploying event toolkits, ensuring consistent execution of the global event strategy, and delivering measurable outcomes. The role leads a high-performing team of two and fosters close collaboration with local markets to ensure alignment and excellence in delivery.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver the global event strategy in line with overarching CIB marketing objectives. Identify opportunities, gaps, and drive efficiency and effectiveness.Create strategic platforms for global event series to streamline and establish proprietary series identifiable globally, with strategy for key stakeholder/client groups tied to the CIB positioning and HSBC brand.Deliver the marketing event strategy and creative, with the wider marketing services team, to support targeted marketing strategies using segmentation and personalisation.Create comprehensive event toolkits (templates, playbooks, guidelines, content packs) to ensure consistent execution across markets and for virtual/digital events.Manage end-to-end delivery of strategic global events, including planning, creative development, stakeholder alignment, vendor management, logistics, and post-event analysis.Design best-in-class client journeys end-to-end, including invitation, delegate experience, and delivery in physical, virtual, or hybrid formats to maximise global reach.Drive content delivery at events, or coordinate with other teams (e.g., Communications) to film stakeholders/delegates and produce podcasts and take-outs for wider circulation, including social media in collaboration with the Marketing Services Content Centre of Excellence.Run the Events Council operations and provide monthly recommendations, delivering the operating rhythm, documentation, and touchpoints.Commercial Strategy & Growth MarketingSupport the global marketing strategy for Global Corporates and Institutions, aligning with commercial growth objectives.Partner with business stakeholders to ensure events align with commercial priorities and deliver measurable impact.Identify and prioritise marketing opportunities within the Global Corporates and Institutions segments.Utilise digital platforms for promotion (social media, email marketing, webinars) and employ advanced event management software for real-time analytics and tracking.Measurement & InsightsOversee budget management for global events, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI.Implement best practices for pre-event promotion, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up to enhance lead generation and client engagement.Track, analyse, and report on event performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.Leadership & TeamworkLead and develop a team of marketers across various areas and regions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams with the client/customer at the heart of decisions; lead a team of event marketing specialists with prioritisation and professional development.Build strong relationships with regional and local events and marketing teams to ensure collaboration and alignment with brand guidelines.Act as the main liaison between the global marketing team and local market teams to ensure smooth coordination and knowledge sharing.Promote Agile Principles and foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the events function.Manage relationships with external event agencies, suppliers, and strategic partners to ensure high-quality delivery and innovation.Required Skills And ExperienceDemonstrable high level of marketing experience, focused on commercial marketing within global banking or financial services.Proven experience planning and delivering large-scale, high-profile events across multiple regions.Strong understanding of event marketing best practices, including audience engagement, lead generation, and measurement.Ensure all events comply with governance, risk, and compliance standards.Skilled in developing toolkits and frameworks for scalable, consistent event delivery.Experience managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, and driving cost efficiencies.Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in virtual, hybrid, and in-person event formats.Strong leadership and collaboration skills within global, matrixed organisations.Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA or Master’s in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.Additional InformationAs a business operating in markets worldwide, HSBC is committed to being an inclusive employer and encourages applications from all suitably qualified applicants irrespective of background or identity.
