About the role We are looking for a Category Planning Senior Executive to join the team that will sit within Fashion & Home Category Marketing.
For this key role you will support the creation of specific innovative customer/marketing strategies and plans which deliver on the key commercial, brand and customer targets.
You will work closely with the Category Buying teams to identify compelling product stories and hero product lines for marketing activity.
You will support the delivery and administration of John Lewis Marketing functions, ensuring consistently high standards are achieved. Salary - £35,000.00 - £55,400.00
Salary up to £45,000.00 (depending on experience)
Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.
Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team aims for around three days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.
Location - This role is based at our Pimlico Head Office in London
What will you be doing?
You will support the development and creation of a 12-18m customer marketing strategy and plan for the relevant categories and ensure it helps deliver the Customer and Commercial targets
You will be responsible for coordinating the customer plan delivery process to ensure the correct marketing activity concepts are briefed on time
You will own the product nominations process, working collaboratively with the Category Buying teams to identify marketing lines through selection and styling meetings. You will ensure all product information is accurately recorded and shared with key stakeholders in the Category Marketing team.
You will own the customer plan roadmaps for the relevant categories, managing change control to the plan via an effective process and ensure that this is captured and updated onto the roadmap.
You will support the Category Planning team in generating new ideas and opportunities for marketing, building customer propositions and effectively communicating plans to key stakeholders across the Partnership.
Proactively support the team to deliver efficient ways of working, to ensure that processes are clear, efficient and appropriately analysed to land creative and compelling customer experiences across our channels. Seeking out best practice from other teams and optimising existing processes accordingly.
Essential skills you’ll need:
Product marketing experience
Experience working with Fashion / Home product teams
Planning experience in large retail matrix organisation
Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
Interpreting insight and data
Desirable skills you’ll have:
Track record of creating and executing delivery plans cross-functionally
Experience of working with and improving process and planning
