Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development & Marketing (BDM) professional to support Ogier Global, our corporate services, funds and fiduciary business. The role is a 6 month FTC and will focus on leading, managing and implementing a proactive and effective BDM strategy. The role holder will liaise with directors, partners, fee earners (and the wider BDM team as appropriate) to agree and deliver on BDM strategy, including analysing, assessing and prioritising new business development activities across the Ogier Group. The role will also focus on managing and supporting the existing BDM team as well as strengthening internal BDM processes and best practice.
This role will be expected to work with the Directors of Ogier Global to proactively target new business opportunities from clients, intermediaries and referrers in key markets across Europe, the USA and Asia.
The role reports to the Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of service line BD plans for Ogier Global
Take a proactive approach to BD and support the directors and their teams in taking a data driven approach to identifying and targeting of new opportunities:
Work with the BD data / research team and client development team in order to ensure effective client / intermediary targeting
Research, identify and propose clients / intermediaries for BD targeting
utilise the firm's InterAction CRM system to drive effective BD activity
deliver enhanced BD reporting and dashboard systems that drive the right BD behaviours across the firm
Drive internal BD (cross selling) and external BD (new client acquisition) through the development and execution of effective BD plans
Ensure regular planning and review meetings are scheduled with each of the Service Line teams and that planned activity is budgeted, reviewed and monitored. Attending regular Service Line BD calls and participating as appropriate (proactively suggesting new BD ideas, targets, etc.)
Translate the service line BD plans into individual BD plans with assigned responsibilities and targets, providing updates against progress as required
Support the Ogier Global marketing manager in the development of a comprehensive suite of collateral
Support directors and their teams in preparation of any significant, high value pitches and proposals
Co-ordinate BD trips, suggest targets (using BD data), challenge on proposed BD approach and ensure that BD trips and BD meetings are effective. Utilise the central support team to co-ordinate meeting itineraries
Assist Directors and their teams in identifying potential conferences to attend, secure speaking slots where possible and research potential targets who may be in attendance
Arrange and deliver BD events, in line with BD plans (utilising targeting data to ensure the right clients are in attendance)
Support the group training function as required with the development and delivery of BD training modules in order to increase knowledge of the Ogier Global service offering within the firm, and to encourage colleagues to cross sell
Monitor BD activity plans according to detailed service line budgets. Manage and control expenditure with the service line teams and provide timely updates on progress
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
At least 10 years' relevant product and industry experience
Relevant degree desirable
Experienced in developing and implementing highly effective BD initiatives in the professional services industry
Ability to form and maintain highly effective working relationships with all levels of seniority from partner to secretary
Strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
Confident in meeting and networking with clients / intermediaries
Excellent people management
Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude
Previous experience of using InterAction or similar CRM system
