Overview We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Sales & Marketing Manager to undertake the marketing and strategic growth of our social enterprise. The role blends business acumen, e-commerce aptitude, social impact and marketing savvy to ensure the enterprise is financially successful, on a trajectory of growth, and mission aligned. The role may grow into a multifaceted leadership position and involves staff leadership, brand visibility, revenue growth, and impact reporting. Responsibilities
Plan, execute and oversee the implementation of the online and offline marketing strategy for the charity. Plan and deliver targeted and integrated communications campaigns through digital channels, events and PR. Manage budget and sales targets, achieving revenue targets while controlling marketing spend within budgets. Grow the customer base through social media, digital marketing and partnerships. Manage the online search strategy (paid and organic) and coordinate with external agencies where applicable. Improve product merchandising on site through analysis, AB testing and implementation of new approaches. Continuously improve customer journeys to maximise conversion and user experience. Support production of promotional copy that communicates brand values, mission and achievements consistently and effectively. Oversee development of email and social media strategy and work with the team to produce on-brand content. Develop regular analysis and reporting on web and offline analytics and formulate sales and marketing plans accordingly. Provide sales information for social impact reviews and evaluation. Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice and house style across all marketing communications. Manage and develop strategies for product development and availability. Stay up to date with relevant criminal justice news to keep FCW’s messaging accurate and relevant. Represent FCW at events and external meetings as appropriate.
About Fine Cell Work Fine Cell Work is a UK-based rehabilitation charity and social enterprise creating handmade products in British prisons. For over 28 years we’ve transformed the lives of people in prison and prison leavers through in-prison and post-release programs that develop work skills, accountability and hope. We collaborate with high-end designers to produce one-of-a-kind products and support reintegration, reduce recidivism, and promote meaningful employment. Essential skills and experience
Experienced manager with proven commercial experience. Proven digital/multi-channel leader with ability to transform digital performance in consumer goods and/or charity markets. Experience working in a commercial team to drive sales and profitability through new marketing initiatives. Analytical, numerically strong, commercially aware and results-focused. Deep understanding of e-commerce strategy and online buyer behavior; can manage the purchase funnel. Personable with exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills; confident speaker. Flexible, adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Accurate, thorough and detail-oriented with strong project management and coordination skills. Excellent IT skills; proficient with MS Office. Experience with online marketing tools (Shopify, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Mailchimp, social media tracking). Interest in social justice and/or retail with social purpose. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; maintain confidentiality with service users.
Desirable skills and experience
Interest in interior design. Photography and image enhancement skills. Experience working with volunteers or volunteering yourself.
Location and terms Location: Battersea, London. This is a full-time permanent role and primarily office-based. Four-day-week option (with pro-rata salary) may be considered. Compensation and benefits Salary: around £40,000 full-time, based on experience.
