About the Role
The primary objective of this role is to manage and develop highly desirable new products and coordinate impactful internal and external launch strategies to ensure commercial success. This role is key to delivering the marketing elements of the New Product Development (NPD) process, including specifying artwork requirements, briefing designers & photographers, copywriting, creating new listings assets that bring the product to life, and working closely with and training other departments. It serves as the bridge between Technical, Sales and Purchasing on product-related topics while ensuring alignment with the Marketing & Design department.
Overall Responsibilities
- Develop exciting, quality new products that appeal to end users
- Act as product champion and lead Marketing-related actions from the NPD process
- Collaborate with and brief other members of the Marketing & Design team where necessary
- Copywrite sales-focused content for all new products and oversee photography and asset creation, keeping the customers’ preferences at the forefront
- Provide customer-focused technical information and assets to the sales team to enable them to sell our products to distributors
- Support distributor meetings, training and events (occasionally requiring time out of the office and outside of usual working hours)
- Provide clarity on range architecture to the Sales team and support the successful launch of replacement products, migrating from old version(s) to new
- Attend national exhibitions in support of Sales & Marketing teams
- Deliver briefings and product training to the sales team and other relevant departments
- Advise digital marketing team in terms of product focuses, features and benefits
- Report on product portfolio performance – for new and existing products
- Lead the research of competitors and benchmarking
- Support in the creation of videos that show off the products and their benefits
- Complete tasks and deliverables to a timely manner as specified by Management and/or agreed project timelines
- Follow SIP procedures and policies as set out by the company
- Complete any other duties as may reasonably be required
