What you will do

As a Marketing & Proposals Manager within the WSP GL Hearn Rating and Valuation team you will support marketing and work winning/ client retention activities, aligned to our purpose. Working with business unit teams and reporting to our Marketing & Strategic Pursuits Lead you will successfully align our marketing and proposals activity to business priorities across rating and valuation.

You will work on a wide range of opportunities, crafting practical proposal plans, winning bid/ proposals, integrated marketing and communications activity, and successful programme management.

You will support continuous improvement of our work winning activity demonstrating shared values and behaviours and supporting colleagues. You champion successful bid management and consistently demonstrate positive behaviours that align with our values.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking client, project, scope, stakeholders, and competitor research to better understand opportunities and inform bid strategy, working with colleagues from across the business (including customer satisfaction surveys).
  • Portal management and coordination of opportunity sharing.
  • Qualification of bid opportunities.
  • Organising bid kick off and review meetings including all agenda, materials and outputs.
  • Managing proposal programmes and timelines, ensuring that all team members are clear on what is required from them, and key milestones are in place.
  • Contributing to proposal winning strategies and themes.
  • Content planning and storyboard development with the business to understand the question/scoring mechanisms.
  • Coordinating and participating in internal and external progress meetings, maintaining close liaison with the team.
  • Bidding in compliance with the established BMS governance and work winning processes throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing across the business with regards to marketing and bidding activity and promoting best practice.
  • Taking a proactive role in the writing of standard content for CVs, and project profiles - closing gaps where possible by interviewing/questioning as relevant.
  • Bid Hub and knowledge management for the team.
  • Proofing / copy-editing responses and using evidence and validation effectively to ensure compelling, benefits-driven copy.
  • Managing document formatting and production process to ensure that all materials submitted are of the highest possible quality.
  • Checking and reviewing the quality of bid text, editing where necessary to ensure that it is of the highest possible quality.
  • Directing and managing content for post-tender presentations/ reviews/ feedback.
  • Supporting successful framework management – existing framework management and reporting as well as identifying future framework opportunities.
  • Managing marketing outputs and campaign plans through delivery phases.
  • Supporting on client engagement activities, including surveys, for continuous improvement and emerging best practice.
  • Graphic design support.
  • Support with client engagement to close win projects and finalise commercial and contractual cover.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • Working knowledge of delivering action plans – and monitoring progress.
  • Demonstratable experience of executing work winning proposals.
  • Organisational skills and strong project management capabilities.
  • Good communicator who is confident and able to work with colleagues and challenge where necessary to achieve the best outcome.
  • Attention to detail – a strong implementer and finisher of tasks.
  • Flexibility which enables you to manage priorities; both those of your own day-to-day workload as well as those of colleagues and stakeholders around you.
  • Ability to engage at all levels to ensure successful outputs.
  • Active user of digital tools, including AI, to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
  • Experience of establishing internal relationships with capabilities/assignment managers that enable businesses to deliver and exceed customer requirements.
  • Experience in customer profiling to tailor marketing content and communications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, as well as proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly and adapt in a fast-moving environment
  • Resilient and positive when managing conflict or challenge
  • Stakeholder engagement and management.
