OverviewGrowing through acquisition, this group of companies sits firmly within the engineering industry and is looking to hire its first Marketing Manager to lead all marketing for five companies within the group. They haven’t had a marketer before, so this is a brilliant opportunity to help define and implement the marketing strategy.ResponsibilitiesDefine the marketing communications strategy and set a baseline for the websites, literature, and social media channels; then implement it.Lead social media efforts (primarily LinkedIn), develop case studies, manage websites, coordinate events, and maintain relationships with trade press.Be the go‑to person for all things marketing; report into the Group MD and liaise with senior stakeholders across the businesses; travel to sites across the UK and occasionally to the USA.As the sole marketer initially, devise and execute multi‑channel campaigns, manage offline and digital marketing, and oversee PR; plan and manage the marketing budget and workload.What We’re Looking For / QualificationsHands‑on marketing manager who can both devise strategy and implement it; a 360° marketer with knowledge of offline and digital marketing techniques and some PR experience.Experience in a B2B environment; engineering or manufacturing experience is advantageous.Familiarity with multi‑channel campaigns, strong social media experience (with emphasis on social), CRM experience, and an understanding of SEO; ability to manage workload and budget.What’s On OfferOpportunity to grow within the business; the Group MD is receptive to ideas (with supporting evidence). The role is expected to be based in the office 4 days per week during the probation period, potentially reducing to 3 days thereafter. Salary is £35–£43k, depending on experience.
