Marketing Manager – Paid Media & Growth

New Today

Overview

As we continue our mission to make people happy through chocolate, we’re looking for a Marketing Manager – Paid Media & Growth to join our Marketing team on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how we plan and buy media, driving customer acquisition and brand growth across the media mix including TV, outdoor, radio, print, PPC, affiliates and social. You’ll work with agencies and internal teams to deliver insight-led, measurable campaigns that deliver commercial performance. As part of a people-first business, this role offers real growth opportunity while making a tangible impact on how we reach and inspire customers.

What you’ll gain: competitive salary and a range of company benefits, including 50% discount on all products and a 70% discount for you and your guests when you stay at our Rabot Estate hideaway in Saint Lucia.

We have adopted hybrid working: on-site three days a week at our Royston, Herts head office, with the other two days flexible remote.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage the strategy, planning and execution of the full paid media programme (inc. TV, outdoor, radio, print, affiliates, PPC and social) with a focus on driving new customer acquisition and brand demand in the UK
  • Work closely with the Customer Insight and Analytics team to evaluate media effectiveness using econometric models, and to understand the impact of promotional activity and discounting on new customer acquisition and overall media ROI
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with our media agency and key media owners or suppliers to ensure performance delivery, best practice and commercial value across the media mix
  • Provide annual traffic, sales and profit forecasts alongside monthly reforecasts, performance reporting and scenario modelling, ensuring alignment across Marketing, Trading, Retail and Ecom teams
  • Build and present business cases for incremental media investment where opportunities for growth are identified
  • Lead a structured test and learn programme to optimise media effectiveness and uncover growth opportunities
  • Respond to tactical and trading opportunities with agile media planning and timely execution
  • Collaborate with campaign owners and creative teams to ensure assets are fit for channel and audience, and support best practice across the plan
  • Align with the Ecom team to ensure SEO and paid activity work in tandem and cross-channel efficiencies are realised
  • Stay informed on media trends and innovations and proactively propose ways to improve effectiveness across the mix

Who you are

  • Commercially driven, with a strategic mindset and hands-on experience managing integrated paid media campaigns.
  • A confident communicator, able to collaborate across teams and present business cases to senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical and curious, with a passion for using data and insight to shape decisions and drive growth.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the resilience and problem-solving skills to adapt and deliver results.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, managing and optimising multi-channel paid media plans across both brand and performance channels, including TV, outdoor, radio, print, affiliates, PPC and social
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in media forecasting, performance reporting and developing business cases to support strategic investment decisions
  • Detailed understanding of media measurement, including hands-on experience using attribution models and econometric analysis to evaluate effectiveness, guide planning and influence investment decisions
  • Experience managing media agency relationships as well as direct-to-supplier partnerships to ensure strategic alignment, performance delivery and value
  • Experience working with consumer brands in multi-channel environments, ideally with a mix of brand-building and performance objectives
  • Experience in cross-channel media buying, with the ability to navigate and optimise investment across both traditional and digital platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of media platform technologies, including programmatic, biddable and auction-based buying platforms
  • Resilience, a collaborative mindset and a proven track record of creative problem solving in fast-paced or complex environments

Who we are

We’re one of the UK’s favourite premium chocolate brands, with a range of products spanning luxury gifts, alcohol and our pioneering drinking chocolate system, the Velvetiser.

A cacao pod takes years to grow – it can’t be rushed if it’s going to be just right for our products. The same can be said for Hotel Chocolat, which originally started as a mint production company before we realised it was luxury chocolate that we were really passionate about.

Now, we’re market leaders in the industry. What began as an online-only business grew to over 140 stores across the UK, and we’re still growing… Today, we’re multi-category, multi-channel, and multi-territory, and our customers, colleagues, cacao farmers and suppliers all benefit from the success we make together.
