About the role

The Marketing Manager (Industry & Government): Safety Gas Detection Systems Lead is responsible for driving the Dräger UK & Ireland Gas Detection Strategy across the safety segments, working in close collaboration with the Marketing Managers and the Head of Marketing. They lead the Safety Gas Detection Systems (SGDS) connected safety strategy, hold local product responsibility for Fixed Gas Detection Systems (FGDS), and also serve as the segment expert for CleanTech applications.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Act as the lead for the overall Safety Gas Detection Systems (SGDS) strategy in the UK & Ireland, combining FGDS expertise with oversight of MGM and connectivity to drive a solution-selling approach.
  • Lead product marketing for the Fixed Gas Detection Systems (FGDS) portfolio across all safety segments in the UK & Ireland. This includes optimising the global portfolio for the domestic market and ensuring local requirements are clearly communicated to regional and global stakeholders.
  • Manage two direct reports: Marketing Manager: Mobile Gas Measurement and Marketing Specialist, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the SGDS business.
  • Provide local product management for the FGDS portfolio, including product launches, lifecycle management, and continuous optimisation. Actively contribute to the development of the global corporate strategy for FGDS and adapt it to local needs.
  • Plan and execute marketing activities including campaigns, digital initiatives, exhibitions and industry events, PR and thought leadership, content creation, and internal sales enablement, in collaboration with the Marketing Specialist.
  • Act as the local product expert for the FGDS portfolio, providing sales support through customer visits, tender activity, and technical presentations as required.
  • Act as the local expert and lead marketing activities for the CleanTech segment, shaping strategy and supporting growth in this key market.
  • Implement and execute the FGDS go-to-market strategy in consultation with other marketing managers, sales, and the Head of Marketing, while contributing to the development and deployment of the broader SGDS positioning.
  • Define the local price and positioning strategy for FGDS within target markets, including competitive positioning and clear product differentiation.
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to define the portfolio strategy and shape the SGDS marketing direction, in alignment with regional and global strategies.
  • Support long-term brand awareness, thought leadership, and key opinion leader engagement across safety segments. Drive business and competitive intelligence, track future market trends, and align strategies to ensure Dräger maintains a leading position in the market.
  • Be an active member of the Business Unit team, attending regular meetings and contributing to strategy development, to support delivery of the plan.

Reporting Relationships

Manager - Head of Marketing (Safety)

Size of team/environment - Working in a team of 12 supported by a Marketing Specialist, you will attend meetings at both Draeger offices and offsite to further the collective safety marketing strategy.

Your Qualifications

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications
  • Marketing & Product Management experience preferably in a relevant industry or technical safety role.
  • Degree or equivalent in related subject desirable

Related Experience
  • Proven experience in technical product marketing
  • Strong background in gas detection solutions desirable
  • Knowledge of the safety industry
  • Experience in commercial and go-to-market strategy
  • Experience managing technical safety equipment portfolios
  • Product management experience desirable
  • Ability to prepare and manage budgets effectively
