Position SummaryThe EO Marketing department acts as a centre of excellence, and is tasked with supporting all European local subsidiaries through a wide range of pan-European marketing investments. These include shared services, innovation projects, investment pilots, insights and analytics, and pan-European governance. The EO Marketing Planning Team sits within the EO Marketing organisation, and its purpose is to provide a range of support functions to the EO teams, across E-Store, Digital Marketing, Retail, Brand, PR, and Consumer Market Intelligence. This includes the management of the European marketing investment portfolio, carrying out investment analysis & reporting, facilitating project ROI & KPI reviews, setting departmental budgets, and supporting with the end-to-end investment & finance process.Role And ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of the role is to ensure best-in-class operational excellence across the investment process and financial risk management. The main objective is to provide a smooth operation of the investment process, and to mitigate any financial/commercial risks.Investment Process ManagementEnd-to-end management of the marketing investment process. Working closely with the European marketing teams to support the delivery of their projects, including continued communication throughout the process, liaising with different stakeholders across the business, including project owners, procurement, finance & legal teams.Ownership of investment process improvements. Includes setting the supporting documentation requirements, reviewing backup for each investment, and working with other supporting teams (Legal, Procurement) to optimise the process. This also includes providing training to the department on process, financial compliance, documentation requirements, and KPI requirements.Project return on investment optimisation. Assisting the Marketing Commercial Finance Manager in facilitating and contributing to the process of optimising investments. This includes and is not limited to: ensuring that critical metrics are set following the SMART principle, reviewing whether KPIs fit the current framework, ensuring that the business case fits the EO marketing strategy framework, facilitating post project reviews to review final project outcomes.Management of the Marketing Investment Dashboard. Bi-weekly generation of report. This includes downloading and cleansing data from Finance (NERP), Procurement (BQMS), and Legal (SELMS) systems, showing the detailed status of each investment within the process. Includes data analysis for flagging any bottlenecks and risks.Vendor roster management. Handling the marketing vendor pool across each category - Brand, PR, Events, Digital Operations & Analytics and Consumer Market Intelligence.Financial ManagementBudget Control: Management of individual team budgets, including tracking of remaining funds, spend to-date, and forecasted expenditure. This also includes budget expenditure risk mitigation, ensuring that variance between forecasted and actual marketing costs is minimised.Open accrual management: Working closely with vendors, Project Owners and Accounts Payable to ensure that aged accruals (POs) are closed off from previous years.Ad-hoc projects. Examples: Savings analysis through choosing optimal FX rate, supporting the team on inter-company transfers (NTS), etc.What we need for this roleTo be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:Preferred Background:Marketing/SalesProcess operationsFinance Management/Budget ControlSoft skills:Attention to detailAble to take on full ownership of a business processPositive and pro-active attitudeAbility to work and solve problems independentlyExcellent partner management skillsTeam working skills. How will this be measured: At payment stage, ROI/KPI results will be collated in separate file by line manager.Investments commence in a timely manner, without delays to the originally set date.Marketing budget is fully spent by 31st Dec of each calendar year.
