The Role

Ravelin is seeking an experienced and strategic Marketing Director to lead our talented global marketing team for a 14-month maternity cover contract. This is a crucial senior leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, that combines high-level strategy with hands-on execution to drive our commercial success.

You will be responsible for empowering a high-performing team, shaping our global marketing strategy, and building strong cross-functional relationships to ensure marketing is a key driver of Ravelin's growth. The ideal candidate is an inspiring people manager and a superb communicator with a proven track record in B2B enterprise marketing, ready to partner with our senior leadership to achieve ambitious business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Team Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of marketing leads across demand generation, events, content, and product marketing. Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy that supports revenue growth and cements Ravelin as an industry leader. Own and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and maximising return on investment. Foster a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Commercial & Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a key strategic partner to the leadership team, ensuring marketing initiatives are fully aligned with business objectives. Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Partnerships teams to create integrated go-to-market plans that hit commercial targets. Develop joint marketing plans and co-branded collateral for key channel partners to expand our reach and influence. Champion our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), ensuring it remains central to all marketing and business decision-making.
  • Operational Excellence & Growth: Optimise and scale marketing frameworks and processes to drive operational efficiency. Manage and cultivate strong relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and key technology partners to ensure high-quality delivery and value. Collaborate with Product and Sales to develop compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target enterprise audience. Oversee the creation of high-impact sales and marketing collateral, including case studies, white papers, and presentations. Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve the scalability of our marketing infrastructure.
  • Performance, Analytics & Reporting: Own the marketing team's performance against KPIs and OKRs, monitoring and reporting on progress towards targets. Provide clear, proactive insights on marketing performance, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders in an easily digestible manner.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Marketing Director, Head of Marketing, or similar senior leadership role, ideally within a B2B enterprise SaaS, fintech, or payments environment.
  • Demonstrable experience leading, managing, and developing a multi-disciplinary marketing team.
  • A strong track record of creating and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that deliver measurable revenue growth.
  • Extensive experience across the full marketing mix, including demand generation, events, product marketing, brand, and communications.
  • Exceptional senior stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to communicate, present, and influence at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience owning and managing significant marketing budgets.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with proficiency in using metrics to optimise campaigns and strategy.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g, HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Exhibit exceptional executive presence, emotional maturity, and resilience. You are a trusted advisor who can navigate complex challenges, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a solution-oriented mindset under pressure.
