Job Description
Marketing & Delivery Manager
Reporting to: Strategy Director
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid)
Type: Full-time
Overview
The Marketing & Delivery Manager plays a vital role in bridging the gap between strategy and execution across Essential Group’s client portfolio. Acting as a key link between the Strategy Director and delivery teams, this role ensures that strategic thinking is translated into clear, actionable marketing plans and briefs across all disciplines, creative, design, digital, social, and content.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who thrives on structure, clarity and collaboration. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their challenges, shape marketing plans, brief internal teams and freelancers, and ensure that every campaign or project is delivered efficiently, on-brand and with measurable results.
It’s an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of marketing delivery across multiple clients and grow into a more senior strategic role as the agency evolves.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Planning & Delivery
- Work with the Strategy Director to turn client strategies into actionable marketing plans, campaign calendars and deliverable timelines.
- Manage and coordinate marketing activity across all channels — from social media and digital campaigns to design, content and creative.
- Write detailed, structured briefs that give internal teams and freelancers the information they need to deliver outstanding work.
- Maintain oversight of multiple client retainers and ensure consistent delivery standards across all accounts.
Client Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a key day-to-day contact for clients where appropriate, ensuring clarity between client needs and team delivery.
- Support client meetings by gathering input, clarifying requirements and communicating next steps back to the internal team.
- Understand each client’s audience, goals and tone of voice — ensuring all marketing activity aligns with their wider objectives.
- Report on campaign performance and feed insights back to the Strategy Director and clients to inform future activity.
Internal Briefing & Workflow Management
- Translate strategic direction into comprehensive internal briefs for design, creative, digital and content teams.
- Help coordinate workloads, deadlines and resource allocation across the agency, including external freelancers.
- Ensure projects move smoothly from concept to completion, maintaining structure, accountability and quality throughout.
- Support the development of internal processes to improve efficiency and clarity in how work is briefed and delivered.
Reporting & Performance
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance against agreed KPIs, compiling results and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to optimise activity or improve efficiency across client accounts.
- Track project time and resource to help inform reporting, billing and future planning.
Who We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years’ experience in a marketing, account management or delivery-focused role, ideally in an agency or multi-client environment.
- Strong understanding of marketing strategy, campaign planning and creative delivery processes.
- Confident writing clear, structured briefs and managing cross-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communicator — able to liaise effectively with clients, strategists, creatives and external partners.
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple projects across varied clients.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to report on performance and provide actionable insights.
- Familiar with digital marketing tools and platforms (social media, Google tools, email marketing, etc.).
- A collaborative, solutions-driven person who enjoys making things happen.
Progression
This role is designed with progression in mind. As Essential Group grows, the Marketing & Delivery Manager will have the opportunity to evolve into a more senior, strategic position — shaping processes, leading client strategy delivery, and contributing to agency-wide growth.
