A Japanese organisation is seeking a Marketing & Communications Officer to promote Japan as a leading travel destination for visitors from the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. You will support the organisation’s communication activities through their website, social media channels, press releases, and newsletters, while also contributing to creative campaigns and tourism promotion projects. This is a dynamic role for someone with excellent communication skills, digital expertise, and a passion for Japan and travel.OverviewRef: MK46594Main ResponsibilitiesWork to achieve marketing and communication targets, both individually and as part of the London office teamAct as the first point of contact for enquiries from consumers, media, and partner channelsSource, create, and manage content across communication channels, including the website and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)Write informative and engaging press releases and news articles for the London office’s website and newslettersProvide creative input in the creation and implementation of projects, campaigns, and social media strategiesConduct research to support projects and monitor market news and trendsMonitor media coverage and assist in compiling monthly reportsManage media databases and maintain accurate contact listsPerform other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Manager, Directors, and Head OfficeSkills & ExperienceEssential:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organisational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointConfidence using online tools and social media platformsPreferred:In-depth knowledge of Japan as a travel destinationJapanese language ability (reading, writing, speaking, listening)Skills in HTML, Google Analytics, CMS, Photoshop, SalesforceProven digital skills, particularly in using social media to engage and grow audiencesExperience in relevant industries such as travel, media, or destination marketingUnderstanding of market trends, particularly in the travel industryPersonal AttributesExcellent interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented and highly organisedSelf-motivated, resourceful, and strong problem-solving abilityIntuitive, with the ability to anticipate priorities and identify potential issues proactively* All applicants for the Marketing & Communications Officer must have the right to work in the country without any restrictions as the Company is not able to offer visa support.OtherIf your application is successful, you will be contacted within two business days.
