Join the dynamic CoComm team at Simmons & Simmons as a Senior M&BD Executive. You will play a pivotal role in a pioneering and fast-growing practice, working closely with our lawyers in the Corporate/M&A and Digital Business teams, as well as the M&BD team, to lead and implement a variety of marketing and business development initiatives.

We are looking for a proactive individual with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. The ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously and provide strategic input is essential for success in this role.

The Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team at Simmons & Simmons is a diverse group of professionals, including value-adders, digital innovators, and relationship builders. The Marcomms team plays a crucial role in enhancing the firm's reputation through impactful experiences and media coverage. Responsibilities

  • Practice-Specific Bids/Pitches: Lead the production of significant pitch opportunities, including practice-specific capability statements and related collateral. Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance for all pitch materials.
  • UK Directory Submissions: Draft and refine submissions for the CoComm teams, liaising with fee-earners directly and ensuring high-quality and impactful content.
  • Event Management: Handle event logistics and execution to ensure seamless delivery of CoComm events, ensuring seamless delivery and maximum impact.
  • CRM Management: Maintain proficiency with InterAction and ensure the effective use of CRM data to support business development activities.
  • Website and Intranet Content: Oversee the management of all CoComm team content on the website and intranet, ensuring it is current, accurate, and strategically aligned.
  • Knowledge Management: Serve as a key source of information within the M&BD team regarding the CoComm team's legal services, ensuring the ability to communicate practice details (including credentials) effectively to other groups.
  • Profile-Raising: Collaborate with PR, digital, and events teams to identify opportunities for enhancing the firm's reputation in the CoComm IPG's legal domains.
  • Reporting: Prepare updates for other firm groups and contribute to brainstorming sessions aimed at developing identified opportunities.
  • Cross-Team Liaison: Work with sector and regional teams to understand and promote the firm's sector expertise, ensuring international cooperation in the execution of the CoComm IPG plan.
  • Thought Leadership Campaigns: Lead the development and delivery of thought leadership campaigns in collaboration with the CoComm senior manager and the senior campaigns and strategic projects manager.

What we are looking for

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of M&BD experience, with at least 2 years in a professional services firm or relevant sector preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage and implement M&BD tasks with minimal supervision in an autonomous and strategic manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading significant pitches and managing the logistics with minimal oversight.
  • Strong event management skills, with experience in delivering high-profile events from conception through to completion.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with the ability to create high-quality presentations and reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency within the department and the firm.
  • A track record of exceeding high standards of service delivery in every task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly establish and sustain positive relationships with individuals at various levels of seniority.
