We are now looking for an exceptional marketing associate to help drive the visibility of Ceto across our prospects, our customers and the wider industry.
In the last year, we’ve raised a $4.8M seed round from some of the leading venture investors in the maritime space. We’ve already secured traction with major ship-owning companies—including a leading Japanese operator—and we’re just getting started. Our team has grown to 12, bringing together deep expertise across engineering, data, and maritime. Now, we’re hiring our first marketing associate.
You’ll work closely with our founder, to shape and execute our marketing strategy from the ground up— building the foundations of our brand, narrative, and helping power the growth engine as we scale.
What we\'re doing
We\'re reshaping maritime. It\'s an industry that\'s incredibly important and serves as the backbone of global trade, moving $14 trillion of cargo each year. Despite its significance, the industry remains one of the final frontiers of digitalisation.
Ceto is capturing and analysing high frequency data from commercial ships to enrich insurance risk selection, reduce machinery breakdowns and improve fuel efficiency. The insights that we derive are served to our customers in a beautiful dashboard, saving thousands of tonnes of CO2 emissions, preventing costly breakdowns and reducing operational risks. We use these insights to provide a world first, market-beating connected insurance product which is supported by a panel of seven A-rated insurance carriers and some incredible investors.
The role
You will be our marketing hire and will be helping to define our marketing strategy. You’ll work closely with our founder, and will be responsible for:
Content Creation: Write, edit, and publish high-quality content—case studies, blog posts, newsletters, LinkedIn updates, internal emails, video scripts, and more— tell our story in a creative and engaging way, reinforce our product and brand viewpoints, and highlight customer successes and team achievements.
Campaigns & Collateral: Create sales and marketing assets including product one-pagers, promotional materials for conferences and company events, and presentation decks to support the team and drive sales outcomes.
Digital Presence: Manage and optimise our websites content, LinkedIn, and other digital channels to showcase our product, brand, and customer success stories. Own all organic social media content and track performance metrics such as click through rate and engagement across all company platforms.
Events & Outreach: Support the planning and execution of events (in-person and virtual), webinars, and targeted outbound campaigns.
Comms Library: Build and maintain a library of anecdotes, quotes, and video clips to be used across future content and communications.
Brand & Voice: Contribute to the development and consistency of our voice, tone, and visual identity as we scale.
Market Insight: Stay close to trends in shipping, marine insurance, and the broader risk/tech landscape to inform messaging, positioning, and storytelling.
Project Management: Manage timelines and delivery of content and creative assets across multiple initiatives.
You will be perfect for this role if:
You don\'t need maritime experience — we\'ll teach you that — but you should be a strong communicator, proactive, and excited to work across a wide range of marketing tasks.
We\'re especially keen on people who are curious, fast learners, and want to have real impact early in their career.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills with at least 2 years’ experience in internal and external customer-facing communications.
- Experience with content creation (digital content, presentation, brochures, and more).
- Strong personal drive and demonstrable ability to take initiative, working well within a team and independently to meet deadlines.
- Experience with digital tools for designing, publishing and sharing content on social media and blogs (Figma, Adobe suite, Hootsuite, Trello, Mailchimp etc.)
- Abilities in planning and coordinating people and operations.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, and ability to work on tight deadlines and high volume of projects.
- Familiarity with basic video editing and presentation platforms.
- A proactive, can-do attitude (you are always brimming with ideas, are comfortable turning on a dime to handle things that come up, you think about the big picture).
- Proven analytical skills.
- Have a sharp eye for detail.
- Are energised by ambiguity and happy to roll your sleeves up to figure things out!
