We have a great opportunity for a Senior Marketing and External Communications Manager to lead on the planning, development, and execution of all corporate, strategic marketing, and external communications activity for UPP. The role requires both a strategic and hands-on approach to elevating the organisation's brand visibility and industry positioning through the creation of high-quality and engaging content that reflects our values, ambitions, and expertise.

Being accountable for the delivery of high-quality communications across multiple B2B channels, including the corporate website, social media, industry events, podcasts, and webinars. Leading on the production of written and designed materials, such as new business proposals, and corporate and investor reporting. This is a varied and stretching role working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent writing, and confident presenting skills.

This role is based at our award-winning offices in London near Cannon Street and London Bridge stations, and we have a generous Hybrid Working Policy which enables our teams to combine attending the office 2/3 days per week with remote working.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver corporate communications as part of the external communications strategy, including investor and corporate reports.
  • Develop thought leadership content and manage UPP's participation in webinars, podcasts, and key industry events, coordinating speaker opportunities, preparing key messaging and briefing notes.
  • Support all stages of bid and tender activity, assisting the Business Development team with content creation, design, copywriting, and proofreading.
  • Use data and analytics to track the effectiveness of campaigns and external communications activity and make recommendations for optimisation and improvement.
  • Creation of promotional materials for current and potential university partners.
  • Support executive and senior leadership in responding to reputational issues or crisis communications.
  • Oversee management of all external channels and content, including our website and LinkedIn, as well as the PR and social media for the UPP Foundation, in line with our marketing strategy and growth ambitions.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and other media materials to promote UPP's profile and reputation.
  • Support management of the corporate marketing and external communications budget, demonstrating return on investment.
  • Line-manage the in-house Creative Designer, managing their workflow and delivery of all requested outputs.

Requirements:

  • Experienced corporate communications and senior marketing professional with experience of managing proactive and reactive media external communications.
  • Supporting high-profile bids and business development activities and an excellent understanding of the production of annual reports.
  • B2B marketing strategies and execution across various channels.
  • Working across a range of formats including digital, print, and multimedia.
  • Excellent copywriting skills with creative flair in designing end-to-end marketing campaigns with demonstrable experience of in-house content creation.
