Marketing and Business Development Manager Energy Sector & the Future of Energy – Hogan Lovells

London, UK. 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm with potential for flexible/agile patterns. Hybrid working up to 40% from home and 60% in the office. Further discussion with recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Campaigns and Profile Raising: work with Energy Sector Heads and Sector Team Leads to develop and implement sector goals, initiatives, and growth strategies for key clients; manage operations for the Future of Energy group and wider Energy Sector teams; contribute to integrated campaigns and thought leadership to raise internal and external profile; drive regional and global initiatives; assist with creation and publication of thought leadership; handle directory and award submissions; stay informed on energy industry trends and promotional opportunities; support implementation of business plans for the energy sector.
  • Pitches and Business Development: develop understanding of sector, practice, and Future of Energy client needs; develop solutions/tools to advance Future of Energy efforts; manage, support, and draft responses to RFPs and strategic pitches; evaluate sector strengths and conduct research to inform marketing plans, pitches, presentations, and proposals; liaise with global Pitches and Pursuits team; create/maintain standard marketing materials; provide support on other BD/promotional initiatives as needed.
  • Client Relationship Management: act as client relationship manager for key energy sector clients; ensure CRM and client relationship management principles are adopted; identify cross-selling opportunities and work with BD team and attorneys; conduct and document client feedback interviews as part of the Client Listening Program; encourage use of the firm’s CRM database.
  • Events: identify and coordinate events to support client and BD objectives; plan and manage marketing communications programs and events including flagship events and smaller seminars; manage invitations, client communications, and vendor selection; collaborate with sector leaders on internal sector meetings and retreats.

Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed to reflect changes in personnel or structure. All firm members participate in the Responsible Business program.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Well-versed with demonstrated success in Marketing and Business Development best practices.
  • Experience in developing and supporting client development and new business development programs to build relationships and generate revenue.
  • Experience in pitch and proposal development.
  • Project and team management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in InDesign, iPublish, and InterAction (or other CRM system) desirable.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in a legal or similar professional services industry.
  • Working knowledge of the energy industry and energy transition market desirable.
  • General Attributes: Strategic, big-picture vision with attention to detail; data-driven marketing and BD strategies; strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; excellent writing and presentation skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
