ICLR is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Marketing and Administrative Assistant to support our marketing, customer subscriptions management, and finance functions.
The role reports to the Finance and Office Manager.
This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week with core hours from 10 to 4. The role is based in Chancery Lane, London. At present, the offices are open from Tuesday through Thursday with employees working offsite or from home on Monday and Friday.
ICLR is a legal charity set up in 1865 to publish law reports of the judicial decisions of the Superior and Appellate Courts in England and Wales. Its mission is to support the legal profession and the administration of justice by providing the official law reporting service in a convenient form and at a moderate price.
This position is ideal for someone looking to develop their digital marketing skills and to build their understanding of customer and subscriptions management and financial systems. We expect strong numerical skills and demonstrable skills in handling and analysing data. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting marketing campaigns, developing marketing assets, monitoring and reporting on marketing and subscriptions activities, managing financial processes, and contributing to the overall success of our publishing business.
Key responsibilities
Digital Marketing: (approx. 50%):
Assist in the execution of digital marketing email campaigns
Collaborate with external agency partners to support campaign management
Implement the social media calendar set by the Senior Marketing Manager
Monitor and update content on the company website using CMS tools
Create assets for email and social media in Canva
Collate marketing metrics for marketing reports
Support SEO and paid advertising initiatives (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn campaigns)
Update and maintain CRM/email marketing systems (Salesforce, Mailchimp) and ensure accurate customer segmentation
Undertake list research to maintain a steady flow of new contacts into the CRM/marketing systems
Organise attendance of ICLR team members at overseas conferences, this includes accommodation and travel
Organising marketing meetings and customer meetings
Managing promotional goods and resources
Organise promotional and corporate marketing relationships including awards and sponsorships
Subscriptions support: (approx. 20%):
Handle bank reconciliation and transaction reconciliation for Stripe payment processing
Maintain sales spreadsheets for online customers
Assist the team with the annual renewal run and other invoicing requests
Access management support for subscribers
Finance and admin Ad Hoc: (approx. 30%):
File all bank statements, both electronic and paper copies
Help handle Purchase Ledger Payments when asked
Sending PL remittances to suppliers and keeping contact details up to date
Check shared inboxes and handle incoming requests/forward to right contact
Handle and direct telephone queries
Order first aid and stationery supplies as requested
Act as Display Screen Equipment lead and ensure staff have a current assessment
Assist the Finance and Office Manager with any ad hoc tasks
About you:
UK work authorisation is required
Educated to a degree level
Experience in Marketing, Publishing, Communications or related field desired
Working knowledge of Canva and Wordpress is desirable but not necessary
Experience using Sage200 or other accounting software is desirable but not necessary but strong numerical and data handling skills are essential
Strong attention to detail
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently across various teams
Confident communication skills dealing with customer queries
Ability to work within a team but also able to manage your own workload

The starting salary is £28,000+ depending on experience.
