Overview

Be part of AS Watson UK’s legal team, supporting the retail business units Superdrug, Savers and The Perfume Shop. This is a full-time role (3 days per week in the office) or part-time (4 days per week with 2 days in the office).

Role Purpose

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced, and talented commercial lawyer to join the Team Legal and advise on Marketing & IP matters, with collaboration across IT and Online teams.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with stakeholders in the business units and legal.
• Act as principal specialist legal advisor on Marketing & IP matters.
• Develop an agile strategy to support compliant Marketing & IP initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop a robust training programme to educate the business units on legal risk mitigation and compliant initiatives.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to support new business initiatives (including IT and Online).
• Build a network of peers to benchmark legal approach and promote the interests of the UK business units.
• Engage with regulatory bodies (e.g., ASA) to stay informed of changes affecting operations.
• Support strategic commercial contracts, e.g., with marketing agencies.
• Proactively plan to manage risks from changes in legislation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in Marketing & IP.

What You'll Need

• License to practice law in the UK, Europe, US, or other common law jurisdictions.
• At least 3 years PQE experience focused on Marketing and IP, gained at a top law firm and/or in-house.

Hours

37.5 hours per week; 9:00 am – 5:30 pm with hybrid working available depending on role responsibilities.
