In brief
We are seeking an Interim Chief Marketing Officer to step in during a pivotal stage of our company’s growth. The primary focus of this role is to lead the execution of our rebrand and deliver an integrated PR, communications, and content programme to amplify it.
This person will ensure momentum across our marketing function, provide clear leadership to the team, and maintain alignment with our business goals.
The role
You Will Be Responsible For
- Rebrand execution
- Oversee final rollout of brand identity across digital and physical touchpoints.
- Ensure consistent application of the new brand across all marketing and communications assets.
- Manage relationships with external brand and design partners.
- PR, Communications & Content
- Develop and execute a PR and communications plan to maximise awareness of the rebrand and company positioning.
- Lead on content strategy and oversee creation of thought leadership, client stories, and campaign assets.
- Manage media relationships, press opportunities, and external comms agencies.
- Drive internal communications to ensure employee alignment with the new brand.
- Lead, coach, and support the existing marketing team to deliver against agreed plans.
- Maintain focus and prioritisation across multiple initiatives, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Provide senior-level guidance while empowering the team to take ownership and deliver.
- Proven experience as Marketing Director or senior equivalent in a B2B technology services environment.
- Strong track record in brand communications and has gone through at least one full rebrand ideally in a consulting business.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing PR, communications, and content strategies.
- Excellent people leadership skills; able to motivate, support, and guide teams through periods of change.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence senior leadership
- Comfort with interim/fractional roles and able to quickly assess, prioritise, and deliver impact.

- Collaborative, empathetic leader who builds trust and alignment quickly
- Proven success as a senior marketing leader in global B2B technology services/consulting
- Experience in AI, cloud, SaaS, or data technology markets
- Proven success building and scaling marketing functions in a consulting business
- A storyteller mindset with the ability to simplify complexity into compelling messaging
- Deep knowledge of integrated marketing, demand gen, and performance marketing
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfortable balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution
- Passion for AI, innovation, and building trustworthy, meaningful technology
What we offer
Softwire operates transparent pay scales and a profit share scheme based on role and overall company performance.
- Base salary is based on experience and ranges from £105,600 – £130,600.
- Pension: Additional 5% of salary.
- 25 days annual leave (with the option to buy and sell).
