We are seeking a strategic, creative and visionary Head of Marketing to lead disruptive global marketing initiatives and shape the brand presence of one of the most exciting dual‑use technology companies in the world.
In this pivotal role, you’ll define and execute our global marketing strategy, lead brand development, and drive impactful campaigns that position SYOS as a trusted and innovative leader in robotics, aerospace, and autonomous systems. You’ll collaborate across commercial, technical, and leadership teams to translate our world‑class R&D and active customer contracts into compelling market stories that showcase SYOS’ proven capabilities and engage governments, industry, and enterprise partners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Marketing Strategy & Leadership – Develop and execute a disruptive, data‑driven marketing strategy to support SYOS’ global growth objectives.
- Brand & Thought Leadership – Define and evolve brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity. Develop strategic content that positions SYOS as a trusted authority in autonomous systems by showcasing our cutting‑edge R&D and actively marketing current contracts and delivery successes to build credibility with defence, aerospace, and commercial audiences.
- Team & Budget Management – Lead an internal marketing co‑ordinator and external agencies across NZ, UK, AUS, and the US. Manage budgets, performance tracking, and ROI reporting.
- Sales & BD Alignment – Collaborate closely with Business Development and Commercial teams to deliver high‑quality marketing materials, proposals, and lead‑generation campaigns that directly support revenue goals.
- Account‑Based & Product Marketing – Create targeted campaigns for high‑value government and enterprise customers. Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling propositions.
- Content & Digital Strategy – Oversee the creation of technical and thought‑leadership content (videos, brochures, case studies). Manage digital channels, including website, SEO/SEM, and LinkedIn.
- Events & Industry Engagement – Strategically plan and execute SYOS’ presence at global trade shows, conferences, and demonstrations to enhance visibility and customer relationships.
- Public Relations & Communications – Manage media relations, industry announcements, and reputation‑building in key markets, ensuring consistent and compliant messaging across all platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in strategic marketing leadership, ideally in B2G/B2B or high‑tech sectors.
- Proven ability to build and execute global marketing strategies.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience overseeing internal teams and coordinating external agencies across multiple regions.
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and ROI tracking for marketing initiatives.
- Expertise in digital marketing, brand management, and technical product positioning.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in brand development, messaging, and visual identity working across multiple regions and cultures.
Location
This role is based in Fareham, UK, with close collaboration across our New Zealand team.
