Job Summary

The Head of Marketing is a pivotal position within the management team, responsible for developing and managing Impression’s marketing strategy. They report to and work closely with the Commercial Director to drive business growth. The primary focus is to deliver broad marketing activities that generate high‑value opportunities for the growth team.

Department Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Impression’s annual marketing strategy to drive the right volume of high‑value leads for the new business team.
  • Collaborate with department heads to create and deliver nine bespoke product marketing plans that promote each core service line.
  • Own value marketing performance data and make strategic investment decisions to grow Impression profitably.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring value is delivered through any investments made.
  • Position Impression as a strategic agency partner through award wins, thought leadership content, events, white papers and webinars.
  • Work with the People Director to ensure Impression’s value proposition is known across the industry and supports new talent acquisition.
  • Evolve and maintain Impression’s brand, visual identity and key messaging, ensuring consistency and impact across all touchpoints.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the performance marketing landscape, key competitors and industry trends.
  • Plan, organise and deliver Impression’s events schedule to drive leads and position the agency as an expert in its field.
  • Foster and manage relationships with key external stakeholders to lead the coordination of successful marketing events.
  • Partner with the Head of Growth to manage Impression’s outbound strategy and maintain an industry‑leading pitch to conversion rate.

Team Responsibilities

  • Ensure the marketing department is well‑resourced and operates within the managed budget.
  • Ensure effective output from the direct team and the marketing output from the entire agency.
  • Ensure all OKRs set at the management team level are met through effective development and management of the team.
  • Foster a culture of open, candid communication with all team members, valuing their contributions.
  • Demonstrate and share expertise across the team and the wider agency.
  • Develop and progress team members with up‑to‑date objectives and development plans.
  • Own department recruitment, including resource planning and structure based on forecast sales and team development.

Salary

£48,900 DOE (+£6k London Weighting if you live in the Greater London area)
