About the Role

Up Learn is looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Marketing to lead and scale our marketing function as we enter an exciting phase of growth. Youll be responsible for developing and executing our overall marketing strategy across both B2B and B2C segments, with a focus on generating demand, increasing brand awareness, and driving customer acquisition and retention.

This role reports directly into the Chief Revenue Officer. This role is ideal for a marketing leader who combines creativity with analytical rigour, enjoys building high-performing teams, and wants to have a major impact at a mission-driven EdTech company.

About You

You are a data-driven, results-oriented marketer with a proven track record of leading and scaling marketing efforts in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. With at least 5 years of marketing experience (including team leadership), you bring a deep understanding of full-funnel marketing strategy and execution - from brand positioning to performance marketing and everything in between.

Youre as comfortable setting vision and strategy as you are getting stuck into campaign execution. You thrive in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and are passionate about making a difference in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy & Leadership: Own and evolve the companys marketing strategy across B2B and B2C, aligned with company goals
  • Brand & Messaging: Define and elevate Up Learns brand identity, positioning, and messaging across all channels
  • Demand Generation & Growth: Oversee and execute lead generation across paid and organic channels including SEO, PPC, social, and email
  • Develop and optimise customer acquisition and retention campaigns (B2B and B2C)
  • Use A/B testing, data analysis, and experimentation to improve conversion rates and ROI
  • Content & Communications: Guide the development of compelling content from thought leadership to case studies and landing pages
  • Drive marketing communications that build trust and credibility with educators, students, and parents
  • Marketing Operations & Analytics: Define KPIs, track performance across campaigns, and report on impact to key stakeholders
  • Manage the marketing tech stack (including CRM, email automation, analytics tools) to improve efficiency and visibility

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience developing and scaling B2B and B2C marketing strategies
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to hire, coach, and develop talent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for storytelling and brand building
  • Deep understanding of demand generation, performance marketing, and marketing automation
  • Strong analytical mindset, with experience using data to make decisions and optimise performance
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred), CMS platforms (WordPress), and reporting tools
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment
  • Background in SaaS, EdTech, or startup/scale-up environments
  • Bonus/nice to have: Experience in marketing for the UK education sector; Working knowledge of SEO, PPC, and CRO best practices
