Position
West Ham United Football Club is on the lookout for an experienced, commercially minded marketing leader to shape the future of our brand. We are seeking a visionary Head of Marketing to lead the execution of brand, media, and marketing strategies across the Club. You’ll drive campaigns that engage fans, grow audiences, and deliver real commercial impact — across everything from ticketing and retail to hospitality and partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the Premier League’s most ambitious clubs and lead a talented team at the intersection of sport, culture, and media.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across the Club.
- Own and evolve the West Ham United brand, ensuring consistency and relevance across all channels.
- Oversee and deliver high‑performing campaigns to drive commercial results in key areas including Hospitality, Ticketing, Retail, Membership, Events, and Venue hire.
- Lead major Club‑wide campaigns and product launches, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners to co‑create innovative and impactful marketing activations.
- Support the ideation and go‑to‑market strategy for new products, services, and revenue opportunities.
- Oversee the management and growth of key digital platforms, including the Club website and mobile app, with a focus on user experience and engagement.
- Report to senior leadership and the Board, providing insight, analysis, and strategic recommendations.
- Set and manage departmental budgets.
- Build, manage, and develop a high‑performing marketing team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within football, sport, media, or entertainment.
- A track record of growing audiences and converting attention into commercial success across channels such as ticketing, partnerships, digital monetisation, and retail.
- Experience leading and developing dynamic, cross‑functional marketing and media teams.
- A digital‑first mindset with expertise in brand storytelling across multiple formats and platforms (short and long‑form content, social, web, video, etc.).
- Exceptional project management and stakeholder engagement skills — with the confidence to work closely with creatives, agencies, partners, and internal leaders.
- Data‑led decision making and performance tracking skills, with the ability to demonstrate return on investment.
