We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing to lead our marketing team and drive the strategic direction of our marketing initiatives on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. The Head of Marketing will lead and shape the strategic marketing direction of Aspiration Training, aligning all marketing activity with the company’s commercial goals.

This role will oversee both digital and traditional marketing initiatives, with a strong emphasis on lead generation, brand development, campaign delivery, and performance analysis. Working closely with the Commercial Director, this person will lead a small team—including a Marketing Executive and a Digital Marketing Coordinator—to execute innovative, data‑driven marketing strategies that contribute directly to business growth. This is a 12 month fixed term contract with hybrid working: 2 days in the office and the rest from home.

Key Duties

People

  • Line-manage the Marketing Executive and Digital Marketing Apprentice, overseeing their development and performance.
  • Empower your team with support, coaching, and delegation that builds their confidence and capability.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture with shared responsibility for marketing success.
  • Maintain your own continuous professional development and stay informed on current marketing trends and tools.
  • Promote positive and productive working relationships within the team and across the business.
  • Present updates and achievements at company meetings and collaborate with the Commercial Director on strategic planning.

Quality & Compliance

  • Develop and execute a unified marketing strategy, integrating digital and traditional approaches.
  • Lead the creation of the Annual Strategic Marketing Plan, ensuring it is aligned with commercial growth targets and learner attraction goals.
  • Monitor all digital and offline outputs to ensure consistency in branding, tone of voice, and messaging across channels.
  • Ensure all campaigns and marketing content meet legal, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, heat mapping, CRM reporting) to measure the success of campaigns, refine strategies, and demonstrate ROI.
  • Manage and optimise the performance of the company website, including user journey improvements and content updates.
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of SEO, PPC, paid advertising, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Identify innovations in marketing, and propose, test, and manage pilot solutions to continuously improve reach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Review and approve all marketing content including blogs, email copy, social posts, and marketing materials for accuracy and brand alignment.
  • Explore and implement innovative tools (e.g., AI, CRM enhancements) to improve marketing delivery.
  • Support the business with digital transformation by championing a ‘digital first’ mindset across teams.

Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop marketing collateral that supports sales, recruitment, and learner engagement.
  • Provide clear and timely marketing reports to the Commercial Director and other leaders.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external suppliers and agencies, ensuring quality output and value for money.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams to encourage confident use of marketing tools and brand assets.
  • Represent marketing during external audits, reviews, or inspections as required.
  • Uphold the organisation’s purpose and values in all communications and campaigns, presenting a positive image of the company to all audiences.

Growth

  • Generate and nurture MQLs that directly contribute to apprenticeship starts and commercial revenue targets.
  • Lead marketing budget planning, including P&L management, cost control, and forecasting, to ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with business goals.
  • Actively support new service promotion and cross-selling opportunities through strategic campaigns.
  • Identify new market trends, competitor activities, and innovative practices to maintain market leadership.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business development, offering insights into marketing’s role in company growth.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve campaign performance, tools, processes, and customer experience.
  • Drive brand awareness through increased engagement across digital platforms and marketing channels.

Knowledge and Desirable Experience

  • Strong background in digital and traditional marketing, including campaign planning and ROI analysis.
  • Experience in managing teams and developing talent.
  • Proficiency with tools like Google Analytics, SEO platforms, email marketing platforms, and CMS systems.
  • Excellent grasp of marketing metrics, user journeys, and customer behaviour.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Full driving license.
  • Level 2 English and Maths.

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
