We are looking for a Head of Commercial & Trade Marketing to join our Commercial team. Reporting into our Commercial Director, we are seeking someone who is highly numerate, an incredible relationship builder, and laser focused on growth and delivery. You will be responsible for establishing, building and nurturing strategic retailer partnerships alongside identifying new commercial opportunities and negotiating best-in-class support to optimise the brand in stores and online.

The Role

Your daily to-dos might look like this:

  • Lead our Commercial and Trade Marketing teams that manage all retailer partnerships, guiding and inspiring them to deliver plans to drive our Beauty ranking and market share across our estate
  • Support the development and performance of your team, instilling and driving commercial excellence and rigour. You will be passionate about supporting your team to deliver their objectives and meet business targets and be hands on
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels including Buying/Trading, Merchandising, and Marketing to ensure Trinny London is positioned to deliver strong voice, visibility, and exposure
  • Lead and conduct successful commercial negotiations on terms, pricing, distribution, online real estate and marketing support packages with Buying and Merchandising teams
  • Ensure understanding of retail context and category performance to identify opportunities and strategic needs. React to retail trends and maximise opportunities across retailers
  • Build strong working relationships with Retail teams, translating field learnings into commercial growth. Monitor, manage, and optimise performance with cross-functional teams, prioritising key retailers and locations
  • Manage each account P&L, balance investment with top-line opportunity; monitor retailer profit contribution and achieve agreed profit
  • Work with Finance and Retail on retail sales forecasting, flagging risks and opportunities. Forecast, track and report retail and wholesale sales
  • Collaborate with Planning on forecasting for NPD and core lines, and proactive inventory and assortment management
  • Keep wider teams informed of Retailer activity and decisions, presenting the commercial rationale. Be the voice of Retailers across the business
  • Onboard new trading partners in line with commercial agreements and build launch and sustain plans to reach and sustain top ranking
  • Support the Commercial Director to devise and deliver distribution and retailer strategies for launch and ongoing trade
  • Be a visionary, helping everyone see what's possible through effective collaboration

Requirements:

  • Extensive and proven experience as a Senior Commercial Leader, ideally within beauty/luxury/fashion
  • Experience in managing and leading a team with success
  • Highly numerate, target-driven and commercially savvy
  • Solution and ideas driven, balancing risk mitigation with growth
  • Open to challenges and passionate about working in the beauty industry
  • Structured and organised but comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced, changing business
  • Able to work in a startup culture, hands-on in a flexible and agile manner
  • Ability to provide a macro-level view, form strategy, and articulate the “why” in business decisions
  • Appetite for learning and development
  • Flawless numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills; written and verbal
  • Proven experience in negotiations
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
