We have 15 supersize health clubs with learn to swim academies on site. In 2024, we opened 2 new gyms purposefully designed for women- The Women’s Gym by Total Fitness.

The Role

An opportunity to build, shape and lead your own small team ready for our next stage of growth. We’re looking for a bold, customer-obsessed, influential and self-starting marketer to join the team at Total Fitness. With recently launched new products and new brands in our family we have lots to go after- accelerating performance, activating our brands and increasing our share of voice.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the role is perfect for an ambitious, well-rounded generalist who thrives in fast-paced environments. Someone happy to get hands-on, whilst being able to lead and influence internal and external teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive brand awareness and consideration for all Total Fitness brands including Swim Academy, The Women’s Gym and our employer brand
  • Develop and own the marketing plan, leading the team to focus on the right things at the right time
  • Devise strategies to increase salience using deep customer insight and brand metrics
  • Manage campaigns across multiple channels and audiences
  • Develop creative and content with internal and external talent
  • Hold and foster a deep understanding of our brand and be its custodian, supporting all functions in their alignment with it
  • Manage and optimize performance across owned, earned and paid channels
  • Manage and optimize our internal recording studio- The Workshop
  • Devise communications strategies for both internal and external audiences
  • Support on research and insight studies and communicate findings across all levels of the business
  • Work with the Head of Product to ensure brand distinct touchpoints across the member journey
  • Work with the Head of Ecommerce and Head of Sales to maximize performance
  • Work with the Head of Revenue to ensure upsell and cross sell products achieve targets
  • Recruit and manage agencies to ensure they deliver the best possible value for budget (PR, Creative and Media)
  • Managing complex timelines and peer and exec stakeholder expectations. Reporting performance back to senior leadership
  • Manage marketing budgets with a keen focus on ROI

What you’ll give

  • Experience recruiting, managing and developing a small marketing team
  • Track record of senior leadership exposure and influencing commercial decisions
  • Background in multi-site operations (a plus)
  • Several years of significant multi-channel marketing success, with examples of standout campaigns
  • Strong agency management experience
  • Proven ability in brand building and shifting perceptions through customer insight
  • Expertise in digital channels, content, influencers, and emerging platforms
  • Comfort with brand tracking metrics and research methodologies
  • An ambitious, curious, and resilient mindset — someone who thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for staying ahead of market trends and innovations
