Salary - £65000 The Director of Sales & Marketing at Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly is responsible for leading the hotel's sales, marketing, and reservations functions to maximize revenue, strengthen brand positioning, and achieve the property's business objectives. This role oversees strategy development, budget management, and team leadership to ensure sustained commercial success and superior guest satisfaction in alignment with Marriott's global standards. Core Responsibilities • Lead and manage the sales, marketing, and event planning teams to achieve booking goals, property revenues, and guest satisfaction targets. • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to attract new customers while deepening relationships with existing clients. • Oversee the annual sales and marketing plan, including budget preparation, forecasting, and performance targets such as occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR. • Continuously analyze market trends, competitor activities, and economic conditions to refine pricing, positioning, and promotional activities. • Direct property-specific marketing campaigns, promotional initiatives, and collateral to drive bookings across business segments (corporate, leisure, group, and events). • Build and sustain partnerships with key accounts, local businesses, and community stakeholders to enhance the hotel's commercial presence and reputation. ________________________________________ Leadership & Communication • Provide effective leadership, coaching, and performance management to the sales and marketing teams. • Partner closely with the General Manager, Revenue Management, Event Management, and Marriott corporate/regional teams to align strategic priorities. • Lead team meetings, inspire innovation in sales and marketing approaches, and foster strong cross-departmental collaboration. • Ensure strict adherence to Marriott's service standards and brand values in all guest and client interactions. ________________________________________ Skills & Qualifications • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field. • Extensive experience (8–10+ years) in hotel sales and marketing, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role. • Demonstrated success in revenue management, budgeting, and delivering measurable business growth. • Strong analytical and financial acumen with proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools. • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. ________________________________________ Key Activities • Develop and execute target account plans and drive new business acquisition through proactive sales initiatives and networking. • Monitor team performance metrics, guest satisfaction scores, and sales data to ensure goals are achieved. • Represent the hotel at trade shows, community events, and public relations engagements to strengthen market visibility. • Champion operational excellence and service culture that reflect Marriott's commitment to hospitality leadership.
