Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) is transforming the way they work to better respond to its rapidly changing external environment and to ensure future fit functions are aligned to key organisational priorities.

About the area

The BMR division exists for the purpose of showcasing the best of UWA, ultimately enhancing reputation and driving student engagement and growth. The division consolidates all marketing, communications, engagement and event activity into one team, enabling strong connectivity and improved effectiveness.

The newly shaped Marketing Strategy and Insights team within BMR is set up to shape and drive marketing strategies that support the key priorities of brand positioning, market competitiveness and student acquisition.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Centralised strategy development and oversight of key BMR strategies ensuring growth and performance management
  • Commercial analysis to support proposition development and business cases
  • Marketing compliance
  • Market and student segmentation
  • Marketing channel performance monitoring and effectiveness
  • Brand strategy scorecard development and associated brand health tracking
  • Environment and competitor monitoring and benchmarking

About the opportunity

  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations, driving recruitment growth, market positioning and informed decision-making across all marketing channels.
  • Lead a team of analytics, strategy, compliance and insights specialists delivering the data and intelligence that power effective, compliant and high-performing marketing initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice and actionable insights to teams across the Brand and Marketing division.
  • Ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with strategic priorities & regulatory obligations. Support program delivery that contributes to student recruitment & growth objectives.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, business, marketing or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Demonstrated experience in senior marketing leadership roles with responsibility for strategy, planning, insights, analytics, and compliance.
  • Extensive ability in shaping long term strategic direction, guiding proposition planning and development, alongside strong commercial acumen to confidently translate opportunities in to marketing outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in segmentation studies, targeted marketing strategies and building integrated go-to-market approaches for segments and audiences for maximum ROI.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant marketing laws, the regulatory landscape, and experience in compliance and risk management within marketing processes.
