Unilever Future Leadership Programme - Marketing UK

New Today

Overview

Our Unilever Future Leaders Programme (UFLP) is a 36-month rotational leadership development programme in the UK for top-performing undergraduates who demonstrate potential to become managers. From Day 1 you will work on live projects within your function and across the organization, developing core professional and leadership skills and building a robust support network.

From Day 1 you will take on real business challenges within your own function and across the organization, with opportunities to grow into a manager through hands-on learning alongside world-class experts.

What do we look for?

Creative flair is valuable, but marketing is commercially focused and requires strong business skills. Look for a deep sense of rationale, ambition, organisational and analytical skills, and a head for figures.

The role: Marketing

The three-year development programme is designed to develop leadership capabilities and provide the potential for promotion to manager after 3 years. You will work on live projects to gain the experience needed for your first management role.

What will the programme involve?

Over three years you’ll cover up to three placements. In local UK & Ireland brand-building placements you will gain exposure to commercial marketing and work with iconic brands such as Dove, Persil, Sure, and Marmite, managing brand elements. You may also work with brand development teams on strategy, product innovation, and advertising development at global or regional levels. You will gain hands-on exposure to Customer Development (Sales), build relationships, analyze relevant data, own financial forecasting, agree on a tailored business plan, and negotiate promotions.

First-hand experience is the fastest way to learn. The Unilever culture is varied, friendly, and encourages innovative thinking. We will push and support you to achieve your potential while allowing you to shape your career path according to your interests, strengths, and aspirations.

What could your day-to-day role include (depending on your role)?

You’ll deepen knowledge of our brands and the people who use them, and use that insight to help develop our products’ personalities and bring them to life. This could include working on a deodorant launch, researching trends in hair care, looking at sponsorship opportunities, or planning a social-first campaign. Roles span across Europe and the globe.
