SEO Manager - Content Marketing

We are looking for a Senior SEO to play a critical part of the Performance Marketing team and will be focused on managing and optimising the existing lead-generation model on Bark.com. This role focuses on maintaining and improving current organic performance, driving measurable results in organic traffic and revenue, ensuring alignment with the trading and marketing objectives. Manage day-to-day SEO operations for the lead-gen model, including the management of any external agencies, and play a key role in running SEO testing and experimentation to inform Polaris (a new marketplace experience).
Within your first 90 days you will be expected to gain a deep understanding of the existing SEO issues, craft a clear optimisation strategy and deliver a roadmap for the next 12 months with justification of your recommendations using business metrics that demonstrate a clear return on investment.
Lead-Gen SEO Strategy and Execution
Develop and execute SEO strategies, focusing on increasing organic traffic, Barks, and Revenue.
Continuously perform and monitor competitors to identify growth opportunities and threats.
Manage relationships with online PR and link building agencies, ensuring deliverables align with objectives.
Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for external partners, regularly reviewing their contributions to organic search market share and revenue.
Ensure link building efforts focus on authoritative, high quality, and relevant backlinks that enhance Barks SEO visibility.
SEO Testing and Experimentation
Design and implement A/B testing and experimentation frameworks for the lead-gen model to inform Polaris (new marketplace experience) and new website structure.
Conduct tests on meta data, internal linking, and other elements to identify impactful changes.
Use testing insights to refine and iterate SEO tactics, driving continuous improvement in performance.
Content Optimisation
Collaborate with the content team to create and refine strategies focused on user intent, keywords, and topic clustering. Drive on-page optimisation efforts, including meta data, headers, content and internal linking, to maximise search visibility.
Ensure content adheres to E-E-A-T and YMYL principles to enhance authority and trustworthiness.
Technical SEO Support
Work with development teams to address technical SEO issues that may arise affecting the lead-gen model.
Continue to monitor website performance and technical health of bark.com.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Use analytics tools to track and report back to teams on lead-gen SEO performance, including organic traffic, barks, and revenue.
Collaborate with trading to provide actionable insights to optimise organic performance against targets.
Identify and address potential risks and opportunities using data-driven insights.
Act as the SEO point of contact for the lead-gen model, collaborating with trading, marketing, and content to align SEO initiatives with broader business objectives.
Work closely with the content and brand teams on PR and link building initiatives.
Proven experience as a senior SEO
Strong understanding of Technical SEO, how to identify, fix or enhance issues to boost organic ranking potential and performance.
Confident with a range of SEO tools including SEMRush, Heap, Botify, Demandshpere
Experience with link building / Digital PR agencies
Pro-active with the ability to work with minimal supervision
