Job Summary
The Retail Marketing & Events Executive will be responsible for developing and delivering our customer centric marketing strategies across our key brand partners. You will be responsible for driving incremental sales revenue across the retail, leisure and hospitality portfolio, as well as cultivating brand partnership, local marketing, tailored multi-brand events and stakeholder collaboration all while promoting Canary Wharf as a destination. Salary £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Main Responsibilities
Manage the marketing for select brand partners/tenants, providing local marketing, activations and event plans to elevate their brand marketing strategies to drive footfall and spend.
Build long-standing and positive relationships with partners across our 320-store portfolio.
Lead the strategic planning and operational execution of the annual retail events calendar, with particular focus on flagship initiatives including Wharf Wellness (June) and the Christmas programme (Q4). These events must showcase the retail portfolio, generate positive media coverage, amplify social media engagement, and drive measurable increases in footfall and consumer spending.
Support the consumer marketing function with the annual marketing calendar, spanning owned marketing channels and events.
Collaborate across A+E and marketing divisions to drive brand partnership potential with our existing brand portfolio for event and campaign elevation. Act as the dedicated liaison, coordinating with brand partners to establish mutual objectives and drive collaborative success.
Prepare regular reporting for key business stakeholders.
Manage projects from start to finish while meeting deadlines, maintaining comprehensive documentation including project briefs and critical path analysis.
Work closely with the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality leasing team on tailored B2B events and activations.
Provide full and effective communication and liaison with relevant internal departments including Arts + Events, Retail Management, Retail Leasing, Communications, Brand, Office & Residential Marketing and Health & Safety.
Continually research, review and share changes to the market/business landscape, consumer trends and activities of competitors, pivoting, adjusting and developing our marketing plans as necessary.
Person Specification / Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years' experience in marketing, events management or retail environment, with demonstrable progression in responsibility.
Proven experience of working within the retail, events, and/or entertainment sector.
Experience in coordinating events and/or marketing projects from conception to completion.
Experience in reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for events, demonstrating the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks in event planning and execution.
Excellent organisational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with particular emphasis on tenant liaison.
Good organisational, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication.
A proven team player with a flexible, enthusiastic and can-do attitude.
Willingness to work flexible hours dependent on workload and event requirements.
Experience of effective budget management.
Creative flair and innovative thinking.
Keen interest in retail marketing trends and industry developments.
