To lead and evolve Hudson McKenzie's marketing strategy, brand positioning, and client engagement initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping the firm's market presence, driving growth through integrated marketing efforts, and aligning marketing activities with business objectives. The Marketing Manager will act as a strategic partner to leadership, guiding the firm's branding journey and embedding marketing excellence across all touchpoints. Your key responsibilities at Hudson McKenzie: Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the firm’s long-term vision and business goals. Champion the firm’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all channels and communications. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify market opportunities and translate them into actionable marketing plans. Continue the development of the recently launched website and ensure content is regularly updated. Lead the digital transformation of marketing, including SEO, paid media, content marketing, and automation. Own the social media strategy, driving engagement, thought leadership, and brand visibility. Ensure the firm’s website ranks highly in organic Google searches, ChatGPT, and other relevant platforms.
Client Engagement & Business Development
Develop compelling pitch materials and client-facing content reflecting the firm’s expertise and value proposition. Support lawyers in developing tailored marketing plans and business development strategies. Create and maintain a central repository of credentials, case studies, and marketing assets.
Brand & External Recognition
Manage submissions for legal directories and awards, ensuring strategic alignment and high-quality content. Drive PR and media relations efforts to enhance the firm’s reputation and thought leadership. Produce high-impact content including articles, blogs, and press releases.
Events & Campaigns
Lead planning and execution of client events, webinars, and sponsorships. Ensure all events are aligned with the brand and contribute to measurable outcomes. Spearhead campaigns to launch and celebrate the firm’s new branding.
Internal Communications & Culture
Design and implement an internal communications strategy to foster engagement and alignment. Promote marketing best practices and support internal training initiatives.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure marketing effectiveness and ROI. Use data insights to refine strategies and improve client targeting. Monitor digital analytics to optimize performance and inform decisions. Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation and preparing business cases for additional expenses. Oversee relationships with external vendors, including PR agencies, designers, and digital consultants. Negotiate contracts and evaluate vendor performance.
Skills & Experience Required
Over 3 years of marketing experience in a professional services environment, across digital and in-person mediums. Experience managing websites, SEO, paid ads, and social media strategies. Proven ability to deliver or support marketing plans, campaigns, and initiatives including events and thought leadership content. Creativity with an ability to produce unique content. Strong writing and copywriting skills, with attention to detail for pitch documents, directory submissions, and internal communications. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Vendor management, budget tracking, and contract negotiation skills. Understanding of the market and sector-specific issues to devise effective approaches. Experience in line management and supervision. Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification preferred. AI skills applicable to marketing are preferred.
