Job Introduction
BBC Monitoring provides news and information based on open-source media from around the world. BBC Monitoring's main activity is the provision of a subscription driven web service providing media coverage reporting for a wide range of commercial customers that include Governments, Intergovernmental Organisations, Academia, Corporate entities, Research Institutes and Think Tanks. BBC Monitoring's service also supports its customers in understanding the issues and media environments through specialised access to relevant and trusted media sources and offers bespoke reports and tailored service designed around specific customer needs.
BBC Monitoring has nearly 230 staff in the UK and in 12 international offices. We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join the team in London.
Main Responsibilities
Support lead generation
Lead and execute integration of content marketing with new business lead-generation tactics including email marketing, Newsletters, LinkedIn campaigns, webinars and in-person promotional events. Work closely with Business Development Managers to:
- develop a multi-channel approach to generate enquiries and leads
- use content to build trust and credibility with leads and prospects
- engage with Trialists to nurture their initial interest to increase the likelihood of conversion
Increase brand awareness
- Create and distribute content (audio/video/text) that is relevant and valuable to BBC Monitoring target audience.
- Work closely with the Editorial and Innovations Team to ensure BBC Monitoring landing page acts as a strategic gateway for new business
Other key duties
- Ensure all Marketing Operations in BBC Monitoring are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way to maximise the value derived from customers and stakeholders
- Support Head of Business Development and the senior leadership team at BBC Monitoring with suitable marketing and promotional material
- Line manage Marketing Executives, ensuring they are effectively led and continue to develop in their roles
Are you the right candidate?
- Substantial experience of working in a marketing, commercial sales, customer service and business development environment
- Significant work experience in B2B subscriptions
- Experience of developing a comprehensive plan for introducing and promoting a subscription service to the target audience
- Experience of content creation including blog posts, email newsletters, website copy
- Demonstrated experience of implementing strategies to attract potential subscribers and improving conversion rates from leads to opportunities
- Team leadership, able to manage self and others within a complex matrix environment
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior managers across a range of disciplines
- Ability to influence and persuade people at all levels to build support for courses of action
- Able to anticipate the challenges and opportunities which arise from market place developments and translate these into a coherent medium to long term strategy

Location: Office base is London. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience + London Weighting (£5,319). The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
