Job Description
Location: Open to UK/Europe (Germany, France and UK preferred)
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 6-months with potential to extend.
Work set up: 40 hours per week, remote, with occasional travel within Europe (approximately once or twice per year).
Our client in the IT Services industry is looking for a strategic and results-driven marketer to lead marketing initiatives for the European Defense industry. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and savvy digital marketer with a deep understanding of the defense sector, capable of partnering with business and global marketing leaders to execute content-rich, customer-first campaigns that elevate the brand and drive business growth. Success in this role requires a combination of analytical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and the ability to translate industry insights into compelling marketing strategies.
What you will do:
- Partner with Global Public Sector and Global Aerospace and Defense leaders to develop marketing strategies and niche programs that position the brand as a trusted technology and business partner.
- Position the brand in the European Defense industry using differentiated messaging reflecting business strengths and thought leadership.
- Define marketing strategies to generate net new revenue and accelerate existing pipeline, including top account targeting and marketing pipeline management.
- Analyze competitive white space and launched programs that convert opportunities into business outcomes.
- Conceptualize initiatives targeting top accounts to drive cross- and upsell opportunities.
- Oversee presence at major defense events in Europe, including the Munich Security Conference, balancing visibility with reputational risk.
- Create market- and geography-adaptable campaigns that engage buyers and influencers to achieve marketing objectives (awareness, interest, purchase, advocacy).
- Develop fully integrated campaigns using a mix of tactics such as direct marketing, events, executive conferences, immersive experiences, social media, and press/analyst relations.
- Amplify customer and peer success through voice-of-customer references and stories.
- Identify opportunities through partner marketing aligned to priority campaigns.
- Execute customer-centric campaigns targeting specific industry segments or individual accounts (ABM).
Marketing Insights and Operational Excellence
- Apply insights-driven strategies to guide marketing and communications execution.
- Develop strong partnerships with sales and global sector business leader teams.
- Collaborate with local marketing leaders to localize campaigns and maximize content impact.
- Provide regular analysis of campaign output, ROI, and alignment to sales targets.
- Identify industry trends and potential sales opportunities through gap analysis.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, and compliance.
- Own and facilitate content on European websites related to defense.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, analytical).
- Highly collaborative, proactive, and innovative in approach.
- Minimum 5 years of senior-level marketing experience, including campaign and budget management; B2B IT/Consulting or Services marketing preferred.
- Working knowledge of the defense sector preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
