The firm is supportive of hybrid working and the successful candidate can be based in Maidstone or Canterbury. Suitable candidates will need to have at least 2 years’ experience of working in marketing and/or a business development function, as well as previous experience of delivering events.

Responsibilities
Marketing and events (approx. 50% of role) - Collaborate with the M&BD team to execute and evaluate focused initiatives and campaigns. Provide support with targeting and follow up activity to ensure campaigns and initiatives reach right audience. Plan and execute in-person and virtual events aligned with campaign objectives, including networking breakfasts, seminars, and webinars. Responsibilities include managing logistics, coordinating speakers, developing tailored content, promoting events, and ensuring strong audience engagement. Post-event follow-up and ROI reporting are key to measuring success and informing future strategy.
Public relations, reputation and awards (approx. 25%) - Support the Communications & Engagement Manager in implementing PR campaigns that elevate the firm’s profile and reinforce brand positioning. Assist with media relations by coordinating press outreach, maintaining journalist contact lists, and helping draft press releases. Monitor media coverage, compiling insights and coverage reports for internal stakeholders.
Legal directories submissions (approx 10%) - Manage annual submissions to Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. This includes tracking submission deadlines, creating a calendar to coordinate with lawyers, gather case highlights, work with lawyers to select appropriate referees, etc.
Pitch and proposal management (approx 10%) - Lead the creation of proposals and pitch presentations, with input from the wider team. Collaborate with partners to ensure materials are tailored, impactful and meet the brief/ criteria.
Marketing reporting and data (approx. 5%) - Assist with the preparing of monthly reports. Work with the managers to ensure accurate and consistent data capture.
The Marketing & Business Development team currently consists of 7 colleagues and is led by Alexa Dowling. You will be reporting to the Communications & Engagement Manager and working closely with the wider team, supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives that drive client engagement, market visibility, and revenue growth.
You should have demonstrable confidence and ability to build relationships at all levels of the business, be highly organised, with strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). The ability to prioritise projects and be responsive/reactive to urgent requests will also be an advantage. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who is an exceptional team player, high motivated, self-starter, committed to high performance and has strong IT skills.
