Overview

We’re looking for a Marketing Development Representative (MDR) to join our Campaigns, Comms & Content team.

This is a high-energy, commercially-focused role where you’ll be the first face and voice of Zinc for many prospects. You’ll engage inbound leads, spot warm website visitors, and convert them into demos for our sales team.

It’s a unique entry point into sales and marketing — sitting between inbound marketing and outbound SDR work — and a fantastic opportunity to learn the ropes of demand generation, prospect engagement, and growth marketing in a fast-scaling environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring website activity using tools like Warmly and DreamData, and reaching out to prospects in real-time.
  • Acting as the “face of Zinc” — handling inbound queries via our hello inbox, chat, and contact forms.
  • Proactively engaging warm leads, creating personalised outbound sequences, and booking demos.
  • Spotting opportunities and handing prospects to the right SDR when needed (integrity is key).
  • Writing clear, engaging messages and email sequences to nurture leads.
  • Balancing multiple priorities — spinning plates, problem-solving, and keeping momentum high.
  • Bringing energy and personality to the team culture.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential skills & mindset

  • Strong written English — you’ll be communicating with prospects every day.
  • Confident communicator (email, chat, real-time prospect engagement).
  • Commercial awareness — you’ve done something beyond study (e.g. sales, fundraising, customer-facing roles, high-level sport).
  • Grit, determination, and high energy.
  • Emotional intelligence — kind, empathetic, and a team player.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness — knowing when to hand over leads to SDRs.
  • Coachability — able to take feedback and improve fast.
  • Ability to juggle priorities and think on your feet.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a commercial role (SDR, BDR, customer success, fundraising, hospitality management).
  • Understanding of B2B SaaS or marketing.
  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot or Warmly (not required — we’ll train you).
  • A natural “plate spinner” — someone who thrives with lots of moving parts.
