The A Side: A Day in The Life
With a history spanning 45 years, Hyperion Records has established itself as one of the most imaginative, determined and courageous classical labels. Home to globally successful artists including Sir Stephen Hough, Angela Hewitt, Steven Isserlis, Marc-André Hamelin and the Takács Quartet, alongside developing artists such as Andrey Gugnin, Mishka Rushdie Momen and The Gesualdo Six, Hyperion is dedicated to presenting high-quality recordings of classical music from all styles and periods. Over its history, Hyperion has released over 2,000 recordings. The label has received numerous accolades, including the Gramophone Recording of the Year Award multiple times, Gramophone’s Label of the Year, and the Best Label Award by MIDEM’s Cannes Classiques Awards. It was acquired by UMG in 2023 to join its portfolio of world-renowned classical labels, including Deutsche Grammophon (founded in 1898) and Decca Classics (established in 1929). The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Operational
Support the Marketing Manager with all aspects of marketing campaigns across Hyperion and Decca Classics Catalogue
Prepare infomails and circulate marketing and audio assets to internal and external contacts
Assist with launch events, artist signings, product sales at concerts and other campaign events
Assist with photo and video shoots
Assist with matters relating to production, from initiation of products to final release
Maintain up-to-date artist concert diaries and book concert tickets for internal and external use
Maintain and manage Linkfires for new products
Order stock for the office and organise sending to artists and external stakeholders
Organise travel for artists and team when required
Book digital and print advertising with internal and external media agencies
Liaise regularly with artists and their management to discuss any relevant marketing issues
Be Creative
Contribute creative and realistic ideas to marketing meetings and campaigns
Contribute to deepening Hyperion’s brand and core values of scholarship, exploration and artistry
Assist with detailed editorial work, including proofreading liner notes and metadata curation
Embrace new technologies and their benefits – commercial and creative – for the growth of the label and the business
Work closely with the wider label and central and eCommerce teams at Universal UK to ensure connected and cutting-edge campaigns across the business
Be Financial
Assist with invoicing and budget management
Be aware of marketing cost-per-unit and the commercial context of any given album or project
Person Specification
Passionate and knowledgeable about classical music
The ability to learn quickly
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels
Highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure
Flexible, able to prioritise own workload, to problem-solve and to overcome obstacles
Self-motivated and able to deal with routine tasks as well as the more interesting aspects of the role
Hard-working, enthusiastic and with an optimistic outlook
Good IT skills
