Overview Harrogate International Festivals (HIF) is a dynamic cultural charity delivering world-class arts, literature and outreach programmes. We’re looking for a creative and driven Marketing & Communications Manager to lead on all aspects of marketing, communications and PR, with a clear objective to raise awareness of our artistic and engagement programmes, increasing reach, and driving ticket sales. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll lead the strategic planning and delivery of internal and external communications. From shaping innovative marketing campaigns to managing media relations and overseeing digital platforms, your work will elevate HIF’s profile and impact. What you’ll be doing

Develop and deliver a strategic communications and marketing plan. Manage digital content and social media strategy to grow engagement and sales. Lead on all press and PR activity, building strong relationships with media. Oversee content creation, copywriting and campaign evaluation. Work across teams to maximise ROI and meet ticket sales targets. Manage external agencies and ensure inclusive, accessible communications. Be the organisational lead for Spektrix, our box office and CRM system.

What we’re looking for

A proven track record in marketing and communications (min. 3 years at managerial level), preferably in the arts or events sector. A flair for storytelling and audience engagement across digital, print and PR. Strong digital know-how, including social media, website management, SEO, and analytics. Experience with CRM systems (Spektrix), and confidence handling data, reporting, and evaluation. Excellent writing, editing and project management skills. Ability to manage budgets, meet sales targets, and juggle multiple deadlines. A collaborative, energetic and flexible approach – and a passion for arts and culture.
